Ashes of Creation deliberately handed out kickstarter backer keys prior to 11 DEC 2025 being linked to Steam via their account page as "complementary", which assures that no kickstarter backer who linked to Steam prior to this early access release could post a review that affects their rating. (Because 'free key' means your review isn't included in that.)

In such ways they deliver the final "FU" to their own kickstarter backers. Last straw here. They're not going to survive and this just proves why they do not deserve to do so. Shame on them. And I will burn a dollar bill over their proverbial grave in honor of the only thing they ever DID care about (which will elude them due to their own choices).

Worth pointing out that most of my MMO play history is NOT on this platform. My pipeline was: MUD/MOO/MUSH > BBS Door Games > Online Text Games > Meridan 59 > Ultima Online > Everquest > Dark Age of Camelot >... it would be easier/faster to tell you the only MMOs I have not been in/with/tested: Lineage I & II.

The MMO is my favorite genre, and the MMORPG holds a very special place in my history and heart. Always has, always will.

I don't know what the heck Krafton was thinking to release into early access without Steam Deck support, but I can tell you that it kept me from purchasing. And the utter failure of its creation demo app resulted in a negative review.

With over 1m Linux accounts on Steam alone, this was a very short-sighted decision.
