I aint gonna lie, the game seemed pretty good for the majority of the first episode, then they had a flaming horsey bust out of door number one and another flaming pony pop out of door number 2 and that really elevated my experience. Probably the best bit of mlp lore Ive seen.

It has co-op, I have friends, we have the game.

War Thunder is fun. There aren't really any games like it, sure dcs world exists and so does world of tanks, but those either fall into the category of being too difficult/hyper realistic or too arcadey. War Thunder seems to blend this together with a low barrier of entry allowing one to fairly easily pick up the game and start having fun while also offering enough realism to reward those who go the extra mile and learn more about the vehicles they control. The game itself isn't without flaws, balancing issues, br compression, and bugs are a constant presence, but if it were just that I would still give this game a positive review. The big problem with War Thunder is the current economy and monetization.

The economy in War Thunder is, to put it bluntly, ♥♥♥♥. Without a premium account or premium vehicles(or both) you will run out of silver lions just playing as an average or even above average player, repair costs are so expensive toward the middle and high tier vehicles that you can easily lose hundreds of thousands of silver lions in the span of a few hours with a positive kd. Ground vehicles are even worse, especially when it comes to research point. Not only are they just as expensive to repair(if not more so), trying to fully upgrade a high tier tank with each upgrade costing 30k rp and only receiving a few thousand for that vehicle per game. Its so bad that most players in top tier avoid playing anything other than premium vehicles(low repair cost and high payout) or the highest tier vehicles in the game.

Basically, unless you're willing to spend on premium vehicles and a premium account you wont be able to play past the lower tiers without losing silver lions, and even if you do pay for both, the grind will take months to reach the end of a single tech tree only playing premium vehicles(tanks take even longer). The constant nerfs to any efficient method of gaining silver lions show that gaijin sees the issue and is actively making it worse to incentivize spending more money in the game, its gotten so bad now that its warranted massive community backlash.

The game itself is fun, but gaijin's constant nerfs on the economy and predatory monetization make this review a negative one.

Havent played for more than 2 hours and have already experienced a number of crashes just loading into matches. This is unacceptable for a 70 dollar game. Maybe when its fixed or goes on sale Ill buy it again. In its current state I cannot recommend it.

Got a character named Claudette Poisson and equipped her with a nagant deadeye with poison ammo, a hand crossbow with poison bolts, poison trip mines, an antidote shot, and 3x poison bombs. Needless to say its quite a toxic play style.
