One of the most innovative games I've played in a long time, can't recommend enough.

Double Action: Boogaloo is a spiritual successor to one of the greatest Half-Life mods, The Specialists. As being based on the mod, it has the same type of John Woo inspired action gameplay and the awesome "slow-mo" effect. While it plays just as great as the original, Double Action has some different mechanics such as killing streaks that give you advantages with "Style" points. It's like a revamp of the former power up/frag point system. Just like the original, it comes with several beautiful and big maps that, despite their size, don't slow down the action. A downside I would have to say is I feel like there should be more characters to choose from along with more arsenal (I believe this is going to change with updates). I also hate the "Boogaloo" part of the name but hey, personal preference. Overall, Double Action: Boogaloo is a solid modification and I would highly recommend playing it.

I'm gonna get a lot of hate mail for saying this, but, I really enjoyed Postal III. It still had the RWS spirit even if it was mostly touched by another developer. There were the big flaws such as being buggy, wasn't as Open World, and yes, I wish there was some way Rick Hunter could've voiced Postal Dude (he did in the beta Postal III interestingly enough). However, the game did offer some interesting gameplay mechanics, its crude humor did get a chuckle or two out of me, and it did (for me) feel like a Postal game. In the end, its definitely not as great as Postal II, but still a decent game that I would play again. Too bad we'll (probably) never see any Mac/Linux ports...

One of the first mods to get onto Steam, and not a bad choice either. Sorta like Twisted Metal, but on the Source engine. Unfortunately, by the time I tried it out with a friend, the amount of players was next to none.

If the fact it has been banned in 13 countries isn't enough for you to buy this, then I don't know what I can say to make you get this.

It's not as good as Postal II, and it didn't have as much influence. However, it is a decent title and a cool reflection of the time it came out. The freighting grungy atmosphere that ruled the 90s in Postal compared to the satirical and political based humor of the 00s that was featured in Postal II. It's a novelty game and I personally enjoy it.

Well, there's a lot to say, both negative and positive. I honestly won't be able to fill in all my thoughts about the game in this tiny little recommendation but I will summarize some issues:

While the weapons and items seemed fun and innocent at first, they eventually brought in much unbalance and ego inflation from players. The positive side though is that the community made items that go into the game help get the creator noticed (and I assume they get some revenue).

Another issue I have is that the game always had a comical style to it, but it seems over the years it's gone overboard. The game had a balance between serious and humor, but now it's complete insanity. Everything is pretty much about humor and being "out there". Some will take this good or bad, for me, maybe I just got used to how it use to be.

As for the F2P topic, I must give Valve credit for being able to pull it off so well, even if I do hate the Mann Co. Store will all my passion.

I really have tried to leave this game due to some of the reasons mentioned above, but something keeps making me come back. I guess somehow through all the bloated additions, I still find the thing that made TF2 for me, what made it fun. So in the end, it's a harmless and fun game, and liking it doesn't make you a bad person.
