This game is excellent. On my Xbox and PC combined I surely have over 300+ hours, and I still enjoy playing it. The gameplay and sheer scale of the open world aspect is breathtaking and unique in its delivery. The combat is good and certainly an improvement over Oblivion's but it still feels somewhat lacking and often it is about brute force than tactics, when facing a boss mob with about 50 times the health you do, you've got to find ways that feel almost like cheating to succeed. The menu systems and character progression are also improved over Oblivion by far, especially the levelling. However, even though Oblivion is older and much less tidy, I still prefer it because of the more interesting story and the general feel of the landscape. Skyrim feels very cluttered and not as open and like a true wilderness as Oblivion did, even though it is in a more wild and untamed environment. Apart from these flaws though, I would heartily reccommend, even say you have to play and experience this game.

The game's story is compelling and I enjoy the time I spend in it, however in some places it is poorly optimised/designed and the menus now look quite dated, they try to be very ostentatious but only succeed in looking slightly odd and somewhat cheap, however this does not detract from the gameplay and combat which is good, enjoyable and quite responsive if you give it some time to learn.
