The stress and threat of my organs liquefying due to decompression has never been so fun.

Great teamwork based game.

Lots of developer care over the years, very few bugs now.

Excellent mod/workshop community efforts.

Would highly recommend you play this game with the "Let me choose !" mod.

For sub sim fans you probably want to play UBOAT for realism but you'll want to play Baratrauma for the lols and for a more social experience.

This is a game I keep coming back to, and it keeps getting better. Well done FakeFish/Undertow Games for this well executed craft of passion.

As an Englishman I never thought I'd have so much fun sinking allied ships, but i do.

Graphically I run it at 4k and maxxed out settings and although my computer does scream slightly the game actually looks more impressive than the steam page would have you believe and I get great frames. It is simply beautiful.

I've played it from early on and the game is still being updated in ways that you really feel are responses to the way people play it, and are generally very thoughtfully considered, rather than trying to insert ways of taking your money into gameplay.

I'd give it a solid 10/10 in the Submarine Simulator awards if those existed.

Best value game I've bought in years, at (probably now more than) full price.

Great. This is an instant-classic RTS game which is very fun and highly re-playable even without ever touching a VR headset. That's also fun too obviously.

Plus, there are workshop mods, Win!

Reasons I enjoy this game:
Balanced gameplay
Milsim plus
No pay to win
Great sniping gameplay
Flying helicopters
No skill tree development, all weapons are unlocked from the start
Forced emphasis on team play, with limited room for solo play
The devs continue to work on the game and change direction in response to feedback

Things that make me turn it off at times:
Taking a while to reach an objective only to be killed on the way
Long spawn times on helicopters
A need for sleep/food

Although there isn't any traditional grind there is a bit of a learning curve, but easily overcome simply by joining a squad and playing with them for a few hours. Most people in this game have comms and are happy to help answer your questiions.

I bought this game after a friend told me that flying helicopters in Squad was one of the hardest Heli simulations in gaming. Feeling nostalgic for the experience of crashing a gunship repeatedly when learning the ropes in the old "Apache" series I hastily downloaded the game.

After realising to my dismay that I could only fly support helicopters (after 400+ hours I now consider that mechanic decision to be a stroke of genius by the Devs) and the difficulty I had with the heavy airframes, I felt the learning curve start to turn my journey from fun to schoolwork. But man does the skill grind pay off in this game.

Shooting rifles was also initially a bit hard too, however that soon calmed down when I realised the benefits of crouching and prone positions, that combined with the large maps had my head spinning a bit.

That wasn't even trying to be a squad leader/use command comms much. There was a lot to learn.

After you sink the time into this game you will find the most hilarious and friendly, welcoming community. To win requires teamwork on a large scale as a minimum and solos get turned into team players by the very nature of this game.

Not to mention that some of the maps could come in quite handy very soon, if you know what i'm getting at...

I love this game and I keep going back to it. I'd definitely recommend it to any serious FPS AND military strategy fan (and yes I mean both).

This game will allow you to actually use tactics like stealth, flanking/manoeuvres and properly deploy coordinated combined arms in a modern mil-sim setting in a way that doesn't feel restricted by artificial boundaries.

In the beginning of RTS, there was Red Alert.

Then... there was Homeworld,

and then... there was Homeworld 2.

I just saw this game on sale.

I would like an option to still pay the full price, because this game is still worth it.

No pay to win here. Just a very fun and balanced game.

If you like pool or football (aka soccer) then you'll love this.

Very simply put: this... is... without a doubt... one of the best games ever developed.

#I've not even figured out a lot of stuff about the game yet (@65 hours)
#I keep coming back to this game

With an almost arcade-like zeal (few adjectives do it justice) you'll relentlessly toggle sprint and anticipate algorithmic combat sequences designed to permit only the best human calculators to know when to hop. Never having to worry in any way about your "savegame" progress; this game is all about the experience. It can be your summer fling or that game you really settle down with, all the while with very little commitment expected of you in return. Yet, the Devs keep on giving in their apparently lifelong romantic obsession with continuing to develop and add to this game, without charging extra in the process. At the time of writing this review, imho they have continued to endeavour to create something truly magical here and it keeps getting better.

Would 10/10 recommend this game to all the friends I actually like. I will dip in and out of this until I die. It gives me the satisfaction that Diablo 3 never could and I would have easily paid £30 for this game without even thinking about it had I known then what I know now.

However, if you play multiplayer, you can't be soft. You need to be selfish and make sure you can keep up the rate of gathering items that your teammates establish. If you don't then you wont have much fun there, but thankfully there are many players out there who understand the bigger picture of sacrificing (sometimes specific types of) items to you in order to be able to survive as long as possible. After all, that's pretty much the only objective in this game.

Other than that, how much fun you have is just down to you and your questionable item choices. Good luck.

I have never played a game in which the Dev team listen to people and ACT so quickly if there are bugs/issues or even suggestions for new features.

The game itself, runs incredibly well. I remember ARK being dissapointing because it was poorly optimized but Empyrion is the opposite of that.

If you like building massive spaceships and shooting plasma cannons and laser rifles and stuff at Aliens, then this is the game for you.

Online gameplay is great. Nuff sed. Buy it now.

Where Am I UK Server FTW!

Yes it can be a grind to xp up a particular ship so you can unlock the next one, but the gameplay should speak for itself. If you want awesome ships without spending hours leveling, then you can buy them. You can have an enourmous amout of fun in this game in any ship at any level so just enjoy the intense space battles and decent breadth of maps.
