Alright here's the thing

Cons:
Does the UI suck? Yes, however someone put out a visual mod that fixes the tree screen which is the most confusing to new players. Now there are still some issues here and there afterwards like not enough info panels in the cities or units. Or clicking out of a pop up with a civ will decline which can be frustrating or picking up goodie camp, not being able to see clearly your top bar.

Pros:
New mechanic allowing you to play your civ you enjoy while doing various builds with the nation you're from. Want to be Ben Franklin but as a Russian or roman? Boom you can now. The mementos give a nice spin and makes you grind for higher tier stuff which is nice. Gives players a reason to play. Granted most people who play Sid just have a fondness of the game in general (like the call of duty fan boys). I love how you can start in different ages, the new difficulty names confused me, but it's still nice now. Maps are great game play is smooth.

Bugs:
Only bug I've come across so far is sometimes when I'm panning around the map with WASD it'll just pan one of those ways I clicked and won't let off unless you save and re-load.

TL:DR; shut up and play if you like Sid, it's a fun game regardless, a lot of the "problems" can be fixed with UI changes. The core game itself is lovely both aesthetically and mechanically. Get familiar now that way when the changes come through you'll have an easier time.
