A fun take on gearing and set bonus-focused gameplay that's deeper than it looks initially.

While the combat is relatively smooth, for me it doesn't balance out the inconsistent game systems blatantly lifted from Control and Destiny 2, bad base management, poor storytelling, badly-directed voiceover (the actors seem to be doing the best they can to make it decent but the writing is SO BLAND), and AI-generated textures on things like vending machines. Even the aesthetic is a mishmash with little feeling of originality. This game is, to borrow a phrase, "all fur coat and no knickers".

Interesting and engaging combat without being overwhelming, highly enjoyable.

It's not often that I find a storyline in a video game that tugs the heartstrings so perfectly as to draw a couple of tears. This game did just that, with a beautifully framed love story told in just the right way.
