Things seem to be improving. I’m seeing fewer obvious cheaters recently, so I’ll give the developers credit for trying. If the situation stays like this, I’m happy to keep the review positive. I’m leaving my old review below for context about what the experience was like before.



Old review:
It feels like the devs made ARC and forgot they have another game.

The biggest problem in The Finals right now is cheating. Not “maybe” and not “rare”, but frequent and obvious. Killcams show enemies landing near-perfect shots no matter how you move, doing insane damage as if every bullet goes straight to the head. This is combined with perfect wall tracking, no recoil, and enemies always knowing exactly where you are. This isn’t subtle anymore, it’s absolutely disgusting how openly it happens.

What makes it worse is that I’m clearly not the only one seeing this. Reviews, forums, and in-game discussions are full of players reporting the exact same behavior. When a huge part of the community notices the same patterns, this stops being coincidence and starts being a real problem.

Matchmaking then takes this mess and makes it even worse. As a solo player, I’m constantly matched against premade clans of 2–4 players who already have coordination and strategy on top of everything else. My team is usually made of random players from different clans, so every fight feels like a 1v2.

Because of this, games turn into loss streaks. I lost 10 matches in a row, then won one extremely sweaty game, only to lose another 5. I didn’t even queue for the 6th one because the outcome already felt decided.

You can’t disengage properly either. They move like a pack of wolves that hasn’t eaten in days. And when they finally kill you, you see they were Diamond or Emerald last season, while I don’t even have a rank.

Why is an unranked solo player being matched against top-tier premades in an environment already full of cheaters? I appreciate the game thinking I’m some Emerald-tier pro assassin from another dimension, but I’m really not.

This game has great potential, but until cheating is properly addressed, no amount of matchmaking tweaks will make it enjoyable for solo players. I’ve even bought in-game items because I wanted to support the game, but right now it feels like that support is being wasted.

I have to review a game I have nominated, so I might add something later. But for the half hour I played it, it was pretty cool souls like experience!

Wait for the dessert at the end it is the cherry on the top that made me write the review! So let's start! The game is so buggy, and the chances of getting better stuff are programmed against you. Example: you get in a game with a key in your inventory and you never find a chest for it. You get in a game without a key, BOOM 1-3 chest/s which you need keys for, what a coincidence? When you see that happening in every game you ask yourself is it really a coincidence? The login time daily rewards that give you from the special currency need you to be logged in for 2 hours. That is not a huge problem I suppose but the problem is that it always resets the timer and also even if it manages to become 30 minutes which is the first reward and 60 minutes for the second reward it does not give you the first neither the second reward! It says: There was an unknown error! And that is everyday! I have played the game 5-6 days in a row and it is still this way. And for the cherry on top: I played 20 minutes so I can farm materials, I was just doing that... farming materials because they decided that they will reward a skin to those who manage to become level 10 on the hideout. Well guess what you have to be a zombie, literally just play the game 5-10 hours a day from the beginning of the release to be able to get to that level, or you can always BUY some boosters of course with real money. Which some would say it does not give you gold but from the other currency, well yes indeed but with the other currency you can buy items from the shop which you can sell in the trade or in the shop for gold, so yes it does give you more gold! But of course it's just a skin. You can always BUY some with real money. I mean if you get that skin you might not want another one who knows, so better make it hard to get. And also there is a skin for the same character in the Season Pass so you can't play with both skins at the same time so why not BUY it right? I mean this is indeed a very good psychological trick! (I mean they need money from the game of course so I don't sue them for that so much it just feels kinda greedy idk why, I just get that vibe, might be wrong who knows) So let's get back to the actual dessert: my material farming! I farmed 20 minutes materials and indeed I got a very good amount! Well, that was all I was doing for 20 minutes, and when I decided to use the portal (you have to use that to get outside of the Dungeon to be able to acquire your farmed items), just in front of the portal, GUESS WHAT: the game logged me out... I clicked Login and it told me: You were in a Dungeon would you like to get back inside? And I was like: Oh okay! So I clicked yes... Wait just wait... I clicked Yes! It was loading and loading and then It showed again Login... I clicked again and the same bs, and the third time the game loaded! Woohoo! WELL GUESS WHAT, it loaded in the menu and all the materials were gone. (Edit: btw this is not the first time the game logged me out, it is the second in my 12 hours playing the game. But just this time it was too personal so I decided to let the steam out in the steam!)

Mod it, very fun with friends! (I might think up something more interesting later, I just need to write a review for a game I nominated because of the achievement hehe)

Harley and Ivy trophies are must to be collected. I looked at them for at least 10-15 minutes each, got some photos on them as well! Some nice details here and there!

The game starts to become really good after you stop hearing: Augmented Reality Training failed.
The girls are also 10/10 including the ninja ones.

Just played Orcs Must Die 3 and got hit by Nostalgia about the first part of OMD, and then remembered also this masterpiece, EVEN MORE Nostalgia hit me <3 Sadly there is no third part here...

Very Nostalgic but... I remember it a bit more polished...
