I’m going to start with a confession: I typically HATE extraction shooters. The punishing mechanics, all-or-nothing runs, and massive time sinks usually turn me away. But somehow, Arc Raiders just works. It manages to capture the adrenaline rush of the genre while remaining respectful of your time and attention, making it the perfect casual entry point for me.

The flow of Arc Raiders is an easy win. This is a game built for quick sessions you can easily hop in, scavenge, and hop out. It balances the desire for casual play with the need for high-stakes tension. While the game has PvE, the risk of PvP interactions is always present, providing just enough tension to make every successful run feel meaningful without descending into frustration.

On a technical level, the experience is strangely well-polished. The optimization is fantastic, resulting in a buttery smooth performance 99% of the time. Which is rare recently...

The core mechanics feel solid. The gunplay is responsive and satisfying, and fighting the Arcs is genuinely fun. The enemy design offers a good risk spectrum: from small engagements with agile Wasps or Hornets to genuinely terrifying encounters with larger threats like the Rocketeer or Bastion, which can blast you to pieces right as you attempt extraction. There’s a constant feeling of danger that keeps you focused.

Last point for me while playing with buddies is a genuinely cool experience that enhances the fun and make its not so aggravating to fail, solo play is equally enjoyable. The game feels like it respects your time and your teammates. The mechanics that Embark has put in place really seem to prevent players from being severely disadvantaged or permanently left behind if you can't sink 10 plus hours a day playing, which helps create a cooperative and forgiving game that prioritizes getting back into the fight rather than lengthy, frustrated waits.

Arc Raiders is a rare blend of high polish, rewarding loop, and time-respecting design. This is an easy MUST PLAY at 40$ it's a no brainer.

Simply put one of the best MMOs I have ever played. It respects my time with truly one of the greatest features to ever be in a MMO by allowing my ONE character to play all the classes in the game, truly a brilliant design choice. I have played this game with my Mum, my sister, my two brothers and my brother in law for close to 90% of my hours played and I regret none of it.

At the time of this review my family and I are almost done with all of the Stormblood patch quests, I will say that Stormblood was for sure a struggle for us to get through at times in terms of enjoyment and story but the patch quests that came after have been solid.

Heavensward... what can I say about that DLC... Masterpiece honestly, we loved it so much we wanted to go back and experience it all over again.

The Story is really where this game shines and just the overall polish if you can get past A Realm Reborn the game truly does open up to another level of enjoyment, don't get me wrong there have been low points but the high points more than make up for it!

I love this game and it has brought many hours of entertainment for all of us and a bit of an escape from life as my Mum who has been battling breast cancer has enjoyed time spent with her children and grandchildren.

During our time of playing I have been recording our journey together and posting on YouTube for those that may want to see what it's like and our time in Eorzea as Sprouts. I will link for those that may want to check it out. https://www.youtube.com/@tythonis

For that and many other reasons this game will forever be one of my favorites if not my favorite game of all time. Stay strong Mum and keep fighting! We love you!

Well, What can I say about this game that has not already been said? Its a game that pushes me to play all day everyday, a game that I find myself thinking about throughout the day. It is truly a masterpiece of a game a TRUE RPG for its time. This is the type of game that only comes once in awhile much like Elden Ring. 100% a must buy for any true RPG lover. Thank you Larian for this epic RPG.

The game in its current state just feels empty and dull. There is potential there but it has a ways to go. I was hoping for a diamond in the rough like Outward but this isn’t it yet. I’ll give it some time to fix some of the bugs and check back in another time.

Well worth 40$ for some fun. Definitely has potential to become a great MMO.

While outward may have some issues and may not feel as fleshed as out some AAA titles it has charm and offers a unique experience. The coop is fun and enjoyable and I believe that’s the way the game should be played for maximum enjoyment. I look forward to what the devs will make next.
