Last I remembered playing this, a major update pushing a new DLC broke both the DLC and the base game. I couldn't get 10 days into the game without some game breaking bug, sometimes even before my colonies could arrive.

This is a reoccurring problem with games published under Paradox Interactive that I refuse to further support. I'd be fine with their DLC focused release schedule if their devs were given the proper time and resources to release a real and well tested product in a reasonable time frame. However, this expectation is the exception instead of the norm.

I will never support PDX again until something is done about this.

14 Hours for this game and thousands across PDX titles. The problem is persistent across them.

You've played for 14 hours

The bug was probably fixed a day or few days later

Some rudimentary research later and it turns out Paradox doesn't just publish for Iceflake, they acquired Iceflake Studios back in 2020, explaining why Iceflake uses the same DLC release scheme of their publisher, as they're owned by their publisher.

I... don't know, then. My only experience with devs getting rushed by a publisher was Maxis getting rushed by EA - but they were at the time actually owned by EA. I thought
independent devs chose their own way to deal with bugs, release cycles etc.

It's almost as if I stated Paradox Published it, this is an issue with Paradox published games as a whole, and the devs were not giving the time to meet Paradox's style of DLC pushing.

...Surviving Mars was not developed by Paradox.
