Stellaris is the best 4x sci-fi game I've ever played. It is the most expansive, infinitely iterative, and the depth of the Mariana trench. The stories and scenarios present in even just the vanilla game are vastly abundant, as are the customization options. When you factor in all the DLC that's been released for this, it becomes a truly massive experience. I cannot recommend this game enough for fans of GRAND 4x strategy games.

This game is the answer to the question that is SimCity. It's better in pretty much every concievable way. The Steam Workshop is rife with excellent additions and mods to further enhance this amazing city builder. I'd write more, but I'm too busy playing.

Simply one of the best Dreamcast era games. The soundtrack is incredible, maybe the best of any game I've played. The cell shaded visuals and sharp graffiti images make this game an incredible thing to see. The gameplay feels great, and it's fairly addictive when you get the hang of it. There is an excellent cast to unlock via skating challenges, and a ton of new graffiti to collect in every level. I rather enjoy this game as a sort of 'Pass the Controller' social game. It's fun to watch, it's fun to play, and the music stands the test of time. Buy this game.

The learning curve may be a little steep for players who aren't used to 4x games, but holy smokes is it worth pushing through the curve. As a science and space nerd, this game hits all the right notes. The research system is interesting, and presents a whole other level of strategy. The races are well crafted, the lore is engrossing and interesting, and the visuals are gorgeous. The cinematic battles are a nice treat, and it's exciting watching the battles play out. Any fans of Civilization or 4x games should give this a look.

You are going to die a lot in this game, but it's incredibly challenging and rewarding. It keeps you coming back to try to do better every time. The Tim Burton living pop-up book style is awesome, and it the design oozes quirkyness. The depth Don't Starve has is amazing, and the addictive formula will keep you playing for many, many hours.

Kentucky Route Zero is one of the most haunting gaming experiences I've ever had. It's strange, and makes you feel strange emotions while also making you feel like someone has slipped something very strange in your shirley temple.

It's a point and click adventure game at it's core. This works well, because it lets you wade around in it's surreality. Haunting Bluegrass and gorgeous ambient music fill out a strange and wonderful world. The surreal elements of a David Lynch film, and the quiet melancholy of a funeral. Amazing and moving. Play this game.

Prepare to die in space, a lot, in many diverse and terriying ways. The simple graphics and point and click gameplay do well to keep you focused. Focused on how absolutely screwed you are, as you run from one piece of bad news to the next. It is extremely fun, and to me, comes off as a modern space faring Oregon Trail. I've played a ton of this game, and I've yet to beat it. One day, when the cards are stacked just right, I'll beat the final boss.

Every game is it's own little story, and that's part of what makes it such a great game. I'm reminded of "choose your own adventure" style books, and combined with the addictive upgrade system and tense battles, you've got a real winner here.
