Early Access Review
I'm not very fond of this early access, develop with the players thing, but I think that it's very obvious this game is going to be great once it's completed. Wish I had waited to buy, but I've had a lot of fun so far. Can't wait for the finished product!

This game was great. A short, atmospheric, horror that I think I'll be playing again in the near future. I honestly enjoyed the atmosphere so much that I wish it had dragged on a bit longer! Slow burn indeed, though perhaps the candlestick could have been longer? However, maybe I shouldn't complain since I've only completed the game once and there's much more to experience it seems.

This games 100% worth it's price. Highly recommended.

This is a very fun and good fighting game. I've played boomer gear as well and that's also a great game. Go play +R and Strive. They're very very good. Rev got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ netcode tho, so play at ur own risk.

So I'm pretty sure the negative reviews are people who unfortunately ate lead based paint as children or huffed too much glue in middle school, because you don't have to pay for this game again if you already own it. How would I know this you say? Well I booted up Shogun 2 and low and behold, I COULD STILL PLAY FALL OF THE SAMURAI!

The Fall of the Samurai dlc, without any of the faction expansions, did used to be 10$. Good job. Now, did you know it had several DLC packs for the expansion as well? Excellent! So now they've re released the game with all the DLC in the game for the exact same price as all of it was before! WOW!

The only downside to this is that you now have to buy the game bundled with all the faction expansions essentially. A bit scummy, but the games honestly worth the thirty dollars if you've never played it.

Get ready to dash block boys and girls. Also, this game needs rollback.

So despite the thumbs up you should wait before buying this. The game released unfinished, unpolished, and bugged to ♥♥♥♥. Cars handle... strangely, like an ATV perpetually on a slip and slide, and the Fortnite/Looter-shooter loot system adds an extraordinary amount of bloat to the game. Clothes not being cosmetic and instead tied to armor kind of sucks ass too, since you cant TRULY customize your V. Similar case with the guns, where you have this redundant rarity system when the only thing that matters is DPS (why hold on to a legendary weapon acquired early on when a common weapon three levels later does way more damage then ur early legendary). AI's Braindead. There's also an entire tram/railway system that just isnt in the game.

There are many problems with this game, some of which I haven't mentioned, but there's a lot of good too. Graphically and artistically the game looks ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing. Gunplay feels really good, same with melee (for the most part. There are instances where enemy attacks feel innaccurate and like aim assisted? Hard to describe but basically it feels good when attacking but strange when being attacked in melee). The stories engaging and there's a lot to do around the city, though your characters background doesn't matter nearly as much as it potentially could.

I personally loved Silverhand throughout the game, though i know many didn't like he casting in retrospect. Thought he had it out for me for awhile but slowly he gained my trust and ended up being a pretty cool choom. Reeves did a great job imo.

Anyways, in conclusion wait for them to patch and polish the ♥♥♥♥ out of the game or wait for the eventual "definitive edition" or some ♥♥♥♥. It's good, but it ain't what you'd pay for yet. However, I don't think it should be discounted and thrown to the wind. Just needs more time and less greedy managerial staff behind it.

Also, this game should've been released on the next generation of consoles or delayed as long as it needed to be. I have no idea what the ♥♥♥♥ they were thinking. I feel like the blowback companies like Bethesda, EA, and Bioware have received over the years for ♥♥♥♥ like whats happened here should have been obvious to CD Proekts staff, but I guess not. Crunch and incomplete games don't make for a very good mix.

Read whole review, don't just look at the thumb:

I think, like most CA DLC's, the pricing's not great especially for a DLC that adds so little. That being said, I thought the campaign was quite enjoyable. It helped get me in the mindset for reading Thucydides account of the Peloponnesian war this semester. I think it could've used more events and even a few units to spice it up a bit (I know it would've been too early but the Boetian league really should've had a sacred band of Thebes unit) and I think the lack of it really doesn't justify the price, even if the intent was to be historically accurate.

It felt like you had to politic a bit (in CA's kind of simple diplomacy screen) since you couldn't just roflstomp the peninsula without getting massive issues, which I personally enjoyed. Somehow ended the game with Sparta and Persia as my client states so I was able to make armies from their units which was alot of fun.

I think I can really only recommend this to people who enjoy historical scenarios however and really only to people who don't mind a pretty barebones campaign. I really don't think this is worth the 16 dollars especially comparing it to the rise of the republic (which I think is very fun) or Caesar in Gaul. Get it on sale or get it if you wanna larp the Peloponnesian war like I did.

Edit: Also steam says I have zero hours which is inaccurate. I have at least 20 or more playing as the Boetians and Sparta.
