UPDATE: IT DOES NOT GET BETTER. Holy 3-stack discord call and salt galore. I've reached the rank where every single match is a 3-stack or a multitude of twitch streamers trying to farm clips or something. I still destroy them because they don't realize that while they're throwing their body on my axe to prevent a hook, they're not doing the generator. One guy told me I rely on my M2 too much (Huntress) when I got merciless killer. Brother. that's the whole point of the game. Bro really just wants a walking simulator. it can be annoying to be spammed with a special ability (xeno) but there's still a degree of counterplay.
AND THE HATCH. I hate the hatch. There are so many games where the last 2 or even 3 players **KNOW** that they've lost and it just becomes a game of hide and seek where no one tries to do gens and just hide in a corner of the map waiting for the other to die so they can go to the memorized hatch spawns. I'll reveal their aura and they're literally just crouched in a corner doing NOTHING. Surprise surprise they still don't win. I got nothing better to do so if you want to drag the match out another 7 minutes be my guest. I will find you, and I will use my mori for enhanced satisfaction.

Some people just hate fun and that is made abundantly clear in Dead By Daylight.

Killer: You play good for 5-10 matches and suddenly you're being queued against the top 100 DBD Survivors who's sole reason for playing is because they hate the fact that other people play the game. It is YOUR FAULT for playing as the killer and you deserve to go up against a 3 stack who brought maxxed out flashlights and want to practice their blinds on you. I'd say I get tunnel visioned against these players but I actually have to have vision for that to be the case. "Just run the Lightborn perk" Sorry, I didn't realize there were counter-picks and a meta in my survivor-horror game. I just want to have fun... I'm still new to the game and LITERALLY EVERYONE is telling me it doesn't get better. Play the game if you're having fun with friends but just know that the killer has feelings too.
Also, thanks to Discord you're going up against people who are WAYYYY more coordinated than they should be making it borderline impossible unless you're literally up against people who have never played.

Survivor: I barely ever have a match with a toxic killer. Granted, I've been playing more solo matches and during that time I'm mostly playing killer. Sometimes a killer will slug the lobby but yet again, there are counter-pick perks to combat this which I feel like that doesn't address the root of the problem.

When you're not being paired against the sweatiest people alive (which doesn't happen often because I was born to suffer) the game-play loop is pretty fun.
It's worth mentioning that almost all the youtube gameplay I see of this game (outside of informational vids) is toxic survivors doing bs tactics, clip farming, t-bagging, or just general toxicity, and then the killer retaliates by also being toxic. Like, ladies and gentlemen, YOU are the problem...

(EDIT) - There have since been updates that have addressed my spark critiques, I would like to see a gamemode where you have greater control over what items you get though like Risk of Rain's Artifact of Command)
Satisfying sense of movement and rewards risk-taking. My only reservation with this game is that there is such a large diversity of items that even with rerolling the shop, you often can't make a "build" around a specific set of items to indulge in a particular play-style. This is only further intensified by the cost of the items resulting in runs that are low in items and even lower in items you actually want. The only way to get around this is to play endless and hope for good drops. Even later in the game when you can purchase modifiers to have more sparks, the items are still expensive. In the demo there was a very limited item pool which allowed for items to be stacked for fun combinations. In the full game I can't create synergies 90% of the time as I would have to reroll the shop a hundred times.

If you love slamming, slashing, and all-around **smashing** sleepers then this is the game for you.
Is match-making abysmal? maybe. Do I have friends who will smash sleepers with me? I wish. Does that mean that I've given up hope? absolutely not.
The pendulum between praising your bots for following orders and cursing them for their incompetence swings faster than a striker's tongue. It's one thing to remind a human to place a tool or use their gear but to micromanage every action done by 3 separate bots is draining on the soul. especially when the few actions that they do perform independently often bone you anyways (walking through doors I'm trying to close, taking my health-pack as I give them ammo, not knowing how to use a lock melter, melting a lock and then just not pinging the case they melted, **shooting when I'm trying to clear a room silently**)
You're basically playing baby-sitter simulator except your babies have guns and they have a side-quest to drink as much hand-sanitizer as they can when they're not clinging to your leg and using you as a human shield.
Some actions and missions simply require the brain-power of a human being. and I can respect that.
At the end of the day, the game-play is fun, the artifacts probably taste like candy, and if Dauda complains one more time about what is or is not on the bio-tracker, I stg I'm going to feed him to the monsters (pro-tip you can give other bots the bio-tracker).

Selling IPs to gearbox, too many bugs, half-baked, blah blah bl- THE NEW UNLOCKABLE SKIN FOR BANDIT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOW COULD THEY MASSACRE MY BOY LIKE THAT. THEY MADE HIM HIDEOUS??!?? WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? HALF OF THE CHARACTERS HAVE THIS AWESOME INCA / AZTEC / ANCIENT SOUTH AMERICAN THEME GOING ON (pillars of gold, inca and aztecs famous for gold-smithing etc.) (maybe even El Dorado inspired). BUT THEN THE OTHER HALF HAVE THESE CYBER-PUNK KNOCKOFF SKINS??? admittedly the railgunner skin is acceptable BUT BANDIT. NOOOO NOT MY BANDIT!!! MY MEAT-LOVER'S SPECIAL HAS BEEN TURNED INTO SOME KIND OF WANNABE STREET GANG MEMBER. HE IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THAT. I SWEAR, HALF OF THE DESIGN TEAM JUST WASN'T TOLD WHAT THE THEME WAS AND THEY JUST DID THEIR OWN THING. THEY COULD HAVE DONE AN INDIANA JONES SKIN!!! BANDIT IS COOL AND MYSTERIOUS NOT SOME PUFF-JACKET, DURAG GOON! NOBODY ASKED FOR THIS! GIVE ME BACK MY BANDIT! HIS COAT IS LITERALLY MENTIONED IN THE LORE.
to further this note, I was rather disappointed that they didn't add any additional ability unlocks. like, they could have given bandit - A WHIP ABILITY LIKE IN RISK OF RAIN RETURNS AND THEN YOU COULD COMPLETE THE INDIANA JONES THEME. OR BETTER YET, DO SOME KIND OF VINE/ RUIN SKIN AND GIVE HIM A VINE WHIP RAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I CAN DO YOUR JOB BETTER IT LITERALLY TAKES 5 MINUTES OF THOUGHT TO MAKE DLC DESIGN CHOICES WHAT ARE YOU DOOOOIINGGGGGGG.

Muse Dash can be equated to sniffing Elmer's Glue. It starts off as quite a simplistic experience but quickly rolls into a euphoric roller coaster from which there is no way off. However, this roller coaster has women and radical music on it so... why would you want to leave?

I didn't know it was possible to choke so much in a game. I came close to the 3:30 time and my heart was racing so fast I couldn't focus and messed up one of the easiest parts. some bits are a little janky in terms of collisions but it just encourages the player to be more careful and methodical in their approach. for something that can be completed in under 3 minutes it certainly ate my time and had me coming back for more. the incentive of a simple mechanic that challenges its player to master it hooked me. And alas, at about 6 hours of game play, I did it. I can rest easy now knowing that I am a living legend. might not be for people easily upset because I would fat finger the restart button on a good run and have to start over. not to mention that the reason I fat fingered it so many times is because if I made a mistake 15-30 seconds in then my run was ruined. so it was a little frustrating having to abandon runs so often. I am certainly not speed running material. But hey, any masochists out there will have a field day with this.

A natural trend I have noticed is that I will blitz the game for a good 5 straight days and then never touch it for a good year or so. that might just be my playstyle but I can only seem to handle it in small concentrated doses. that might also be because of how busy I am where I'll only play when I know I can get a good run at it but it does bring peace to those times. All in all I would definitely recommend getting it because there's just so much charm surrounding it. (might update later with more details)
