ChainStaff looks great, plays well, and the soundtrack is straight aces.
It's brutally tough, you will die a lot, but there's plenty of checkpoints so it's not TOO punishing.

I made things harder on myself by refusing to upgrade health for a long time on my first playthrough.
Save some soldiers and upgrade the shield or snack on some hearts for a health upgrade and it goes much smoother.

The Bosses are a highlight, where they require you to learn their patterns and use the ChainStaff in clever ways to avoid damage. Pretty much every boss has a cool way to use the ChainStaff on them ranging from just blocking bullets to impaling them with their own attack.

Great little RPG, The battle system is fun and keeps dropping new abilities on you all the way to the end, so I was always remixing my party comp to try out new stuff. I enjoyed the humor quite a bit, and the story pacing felt good. I'm surprised I hadn't heard about it until it was directly recommended to me.

Look Outside is a truly excellent RPG. Go into it blind if you can, not because there's some grand twist, but because like most survival horrors the game is scarier when you don't know what's coming next. Just how long can you go before returning home? Can you survive the next fight? Is it worth burning all your items to survive the night? Besides the gameplay loop, the art is creative and haunting, there's always a horrible new cosmic horror around the corner.

If you have any love for quirky RPGs or Survival Horror, you'll be right at home here.

Having played both the original on PS2 and the new remake on PC, I think they did a great job updating the gameplay and retelling the sad tale of James Sunderland.

As a fan of Steel Batallion, Mechwarrior, and VR, this ticks all the right boxes for me.

Neat little retro shooter. Lots of homages to classic Build stuff, from one liners to blowing up skyscrapers. Aesthetic feels like playing through an old over-the-top flash cartoon.

Gameplay is rock solid, you run like a freight train, have a wicked vertical jump, and an arsenal of explosives. The air is usually safer than the ground with the amount of rockets and grenades getting thrown around by both you and enemies.

It's a unique change of pace gliding around raining death from above instead of being glued to the ground.

Great little high score chaser with a notebook aesthetic. Rack up huge combos and high scores as you skate buff dudes around the level while launching exploding basketballs at everything.

Pretty short, but keeps things fresh by introducing new environments every couple of levels. Body skating and grinding rails are fairly important since you deal double damage and gain a bunch of mobility when doing so. Dialog is funny, weapons are a vibe, really charming overall.

What a throwback this was. Great short little adventure if you watched SBEmails or HSR back in the day.
Half the game is puzzles, the other half is intentionally doing stuff wrong just to see what happens.

Apocalyptic Vibes plays kind of like a mix between Stalker and Metro2033. The combat is quick and deadly as in Stalker, but the level progression is linear similar to Metro. The player dies in only a few shots, but so do enemies, so it's important to use cover and avoid taking on too many enemies at once.

It took me around six hours to finish the story. The difficulty ramps up toward the end as you have to adapt to more fog and rain conditions. I even found myself tuning to the weather station and waiting out the fog on one occasion.

Health is regenerated slowly by eating or quickly by using an emergency medkit. Medkits cause you to take a bit of damage first, but regenerate most of your health and quickly as the trade off.

Currently there are only human enemies, Apocalyptic Vibes has very few supernatural elements compared to its influences.

I look forward to further updates and bugfixes, but what's here already is very cool.
