Early Access Review
I've held off writing a review for Trailmakers as I'm normally not a fan of writing them in general. However, Trailmakers stands out in a way that was very welcome after scouring Steam for games similar. Trailmakers scratches an itch for building that works so well.

I've owned Trailmakers since its public release date (January 31st, 2018) and I've seen both infuriating and amazing changes to this game.
Positive Things:
-Content, lots of content, it seems like as one update releases and I get the hang of it, BOOM, another update with even more ♥♥♥♥ to mess with drops. Never a boring moment when building.
-Awesome devs that actually interact with their community, theres developer live streams every Friday AND (Jamie and Stidsholt especially) can be seen talking and joking with people in the discord. Flashbulb has a Trello page set up for Trailmakers that allows the community to add suggestions for things they want in game. The Trello acts as a sort of early patch notes so we always have a rough idea of whats going on.
-Multiplayer! It's buggy and laggy but it works and when it works well its amazing! Picture if you will a giant shark chasing a small submarine around an underwater race track. That can happen and has happened, messing around with friends is the best way to experience this game. Don't have anyone to play with? The Trailmakers Discord server is full of awesome people waiting to screw around together. I met one of my best friends, Kronogenics, through that server.

Negative Things:
-Multiplayer? How can that be both a positive and a negative???? I said its laggy and buggy but when it works it works great. Those laggy and buggy parts can be super frustrating to deal with sometimes, there have been times where it can take close to 10-15 minutes to get everyone you want in your game to load and have things go relatively well. I have noticed that shutting down and restarting the server does improve performance greatly if done ~every 1-2 hours in-game. I'm sure this will get ironed out in the future so, take this one with a grain of salt.
-Game breaking bugs, they're few and far between but when they happen can be super irritating, there have been times I've enountered bugs that refuse to let me save my builds or exit build mode, meaning my vehicle doesn't save to my history. Again, these are few and far between but expect them, Trailmakers is early access so they will happen, if you aren't ready to mess with bugs then maybe wait a bit.

I can't even begin to list all the times I've said "WHOA, LOOK AT THAT! That's awesome!" it happens multiple times, every day. It seeming like everyday the vehicles can crazier and the ideas wilder.

My first day of Trailmakers went something like this:
>Experince bug refuse to load game
>Bug goes away, load up game and join official Discord
>Meet Sky Cheetah (discord mod), host MP server and build first hover with advice from cheetah
>Make stupidly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ oversized hover with ♥♥♥♥♥ movement
>Brainstorm ideas for the rest of the night
>Go to be... Is that the sun????
>Repeat next day until first decent hover is made

Now my days are closer to:
>Look at concept art
>Build version of concept art
>Become victim of underwater "Fox Hunting" performed by a man named TheKat
>Blow-up endlessly
>Master Controls
>Contemplate name of vehicle and do stupid ♥♥♥♥
>Get roasted on the discord
>Wouldn't have it any other way

Trailmakers is a diamond among a crowd of endless clones of building sims, if you've seen this and you keep contemplating buying it, JUST DO IT!!!!! The game is amazing and I can't wait to see where it goes in the future.

Happy Trailmaking,
-Fox (aka Klap Them Nuts)
