Many players have already discussed the pros and cons of Dune: Awakening, so I’d like to share my perspective as a solo player who has spent over 160 hours in the game. My experience evolved gradually - from genuine immersion and enjoyment to disappointment. Below are four key issues that ultimately undermined my impression of the project.

1. Inventory Loss
One day, after restarting the game, a significant portion of my inventory - both on my character and in storage - simply vanished. No warnings, no errors, no logs. I contacted technical support, hoping at least for acknowledgment. But there was complete silence - no explanations, no compensation, no apparent interest. That alone shattered any trust I had in the developers.

2. Social Isolation
The game’s mechanics strongly encourage player interaction, especially in the late-game. But for solo players, this becomes a serious obstacle. Even if you manage to find an active group, the absence of a microphone is often enough to get you kicked - in about 80% of cases, no mic means no team. Most groups are already full or closed to newcomers. As a result, a large portion of content is effectively locked out, and the feeling of isolation in an online world only grows stronger.

3. Harsh Penalties for Minor Delays
The in-game system of “taxes” and fuel maintenance is incredibly unforgiving. If you’re even a few hours late, you risk losing your home, your vehicles, and your hard-earned resources. In my case, I had just finished building my ornithopter and left it for a short break - when I returned, it was gone. Even if you try to prepare backup resources, a bug or a cheater can still take everything from you. Without constant vigilance and mental strain, progress simply evaporates. Once again, support offers no help - it’s all treated as “intended gameplay.”

4. Losing Vehicles in Faction Cities
Even if you manage to build a second ornithopter and leave it in what should be a safe zone - like a faction city - you might lose it anyway. And again, support won’t lift a finger. In this game, vehicles are not just transport - they’re your access to entire areas and systems. For a solo player, losing one means losing your grip on progress entirely, forcing you to start over from scratch.

Conclusion
Dune: Awakening is a game with truly massive potential. Its visual style, atmosphere, worldbuilding, and first dozen hours can absolutely draw you in. You can feel the scope, the ambition, the passion behind the project. But the deeper you go, the more you face not the sands of Arrakis - but the dust of systemic flaws and questionable design choices.

Support technically exists, but in practice, it feels absent. Tickets go unanswered, bugs and losses are ignored, and players are left guessing what went wrong. If you play as part of a well-organized clan or group, your path might be smoother. But for solo players, Dune: Awakening currently offers a harsh, unforgiving experience with no safety net. PvP is forced upon you whether you want it or not, and PvE progression can be wiped out in hours due to a single mistake or unfortunate event.

If you’re hoping for a fair, self-paced experience where your efforts are preserved - be prepared for disappointment. This game demands constant presence, cooperation, and tolerance for a lack of support, even when critical issues arise.

Maybe I’ll revise my opinion someday - if I find a group willing to start over with me from the beginning, and finally stop feeling so... defeated.

   Игра быстро становится монотонной из-за ограниченных возможностей геймплея. Основной акцент сделан на ресурсы и строительство, из-за чего игровой процесс превращается в рутину.
   
   
2. Проблемы баланса и геймплея:
   На старте приходится буквально "танковать" слишком живучих врагов, поскольку доступных построек и юнитов недостаточно для нормальной обороны.
   
   
3. Неудобный интерфейс:
   Интерфейс выбора зданий и юнитов не выделяет выбранный объект, из-за чего часто возникают ошибки при покупке и размещении.
   
   
4. Плохо реализованное обучение: Игра не рассказывает обо всех зданиях сразу. Большинство построек приходится изучать в самом "раунде" в момент строительства, где время ограниченно, что делает процесс напряжённым и неудобным в попытках быстро всё изучить.
   
   
5. Отсутствие динамики и затянутость: Даже после полной застройки карты (уточню, что постройки лишь в определенных местах и юнитов не везде можно поставить) игра продолжает ощущаться медленной и монотонной. Уничтожение одних и тех же однотипных врагов быстро надоедает и утомляет.
   
   
6. Неудобный интерфейс выбора зданий:
   Интерфейс не выделяет выбранный объект для постройки, из-за чего легко ошибиться при выборе и постройке зданий или юнитов.

Потратил на игру около часа, но не смог продолжить дальше — слишком скучно, однообразно и утомительно. Пока не будет улучшений баланса и добавления динамики, игра не стоит покупки.

The attempt to play was unsuccessful. I decided to buy their extended version after all, so what? Well, I dressed up nicely and arranged myself with all sorts of decor. And everything. There is still no one to play with. Did you want to give it to a friend? Well, there's nothing to do, just an in-game purchase of the full version, but there's no way to give it away. Thank you for wasting money and not being able to play and make any kind of refund or attempt to make a gift.

Однажды купив, вижу КС ныне бесплатным. Медальку впихнули, а-ля компенсация. Так еще прайм статус теперь говорят "иди покупай". Спасибо за весёлое время.
