Rimworld is an incredible simulation game where you have to account for every detail, no matter how small. It's incredibly addicting developing your own stories, even when you fail. Lots of mod support through the workshop and the devs are very transparent and quick with updates.

I have been long awaiting a horror game that could actually terrify me the way that games like Alien Isolation, Outlast, and Silent Hill have done before. I am glad to report that Resident Evil 7 has done just that.

This game has a very well executed story that does tie into the Resident Evil universe (rest assured), the gameplay feels good and has that survival-horror feel. Item and inventory management play a key role. And lots of creative puzzles and traps that will keep you on your toes and your brain thinking.

The boss fights were unique and equally horrifying, save for one that was completely fun and badass. The general length of the game feels just right (beat it in ~8.5 hours, with 9 hours being the average), though I was left wanting more at the end (because of how good it is). My main complaint would have to be lack in variety for enemies, but it's not nearly bad enough to be that much of an issue.

The game is gorgeous, and the music, sounds, and environments make an atmosphere that will keep you constantly on edge. All Resident Evil fans, and fans of horror, in general, should give this game a shot. Even though it's only the beginning of the year, this is hands-down a contender for my game of the year. 9/10, one of my favorite games, by far.
