The writing is atrocious. It feels way too contemporary and at time Marvel movie-ish to the point of unbelievability, thoroughly breaking any sense of immersion.

Hi-Fi Rush is a smaller game that won plenty of awards and for good reason. A masterpiece of the genre with fantastic combat, endearing characters, and an absolutely banging soundtrack.

RIP Tango Gameworks. They made an incredible game and then got shuttered just so Phil Spencer could afford another yacht.

The game has been completely broken for a few months with not a peep from the devs. Will not be purchasing anything from these clowns ever again.

While the gunplay on its own feels good and mechanically it feels great and buttery smooth to run around in, ultimately I can't recommend this because the actual roguelike elements are so sparse and the runs take too long so it just feels very samey and I lost interest in wanting to beat the game.

I used to really enjoy this game but it became very clear over time that Gaijin is an extremely hostile company that cares far more about scamming their customer base than making a good game. They're absolutely shameless with their pay to win schemes and won't hesitate to attack you if you point their crappy behavior out.

Avoid at all costs. Go play IL-2 instead.

Feels directionless. The absurd fun of shooting waves of dinosaurs in mecha suits is badly straining against the inherent sweatfest that class based team pvp always results in so the fun of gunning down a T-Rex ends up slamming into a brickwall of having to pick/counter-pick and suddenly play a very different game. Y'all should have leaned hard into the competitive co-op objective race concept and either fork the direct PVP into its own mode or axe it entirely.

It's all a shame too cause until we hit the forced pvp bits it's honestly a ton of fun. The exo suits are all pretty cool, the abilities feel good, it's all got that Capcom quality until it spontaneously combusts at the finale of every match. It'd have been cool for the MP to be a sort of co-op vs co-op race and have the finale be in an open area where the teams can all see each other while completing the final objective but the point isn't to kill each other. You could more directly de-buff the other side or trigger traps or something like that, though.

No single player of any sort is a huge waste too when y'all could have made some sort of wacky EDF fun out of this. This game is gonna be dead pretty fast, especially at 60 bucks with battlepass nonsense.

This is my new VR home

It's so much more polished than Pavlov with an ingame mod manager, per gun gunstock calibration, no community fracturing thanks to the pc/oculus crossplay, and no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amogus rp server nonsense cluttering things up.

It's so much more than a better Pavlov tho

A ton of old but gold COD maps got ported in and are a blast (and made me feel ancient the first time Bloc from MW1 loaded). There's a wholeass Halo mod with the guns, shields, and maps included and even a Star Wars Battlefront mod which is the anti-sweat fun zone since star wars blasters inherently can't hit the broadside of a barn and have no sights so it's just a silly good time.

Honestly this game is so fun it's ruining regular KBAM shooters for me too.

I really wanted to love this game but every aspect of it is just disconnected and soulless. Other than grind for new ships and parts there's very little going on in this game and very little opportunities for making your own fun. There's a buncha systems but they all feel like isolated sandboxes. Powerplay should have saved this game but instead just ended up as another grind system to get faction awards rather than a meaningful way to fight for the factions and expand their territory while encouraging player interaction.

The devs have squandered this game's potential every step of the way and you're better off picking up something like X4

I'm on the NotChina island at level 43ish and the push to get through all this is so damn draggy and the pacing is all over the place. They did a couple big awesome set piece moments but then it feels like most of the game is just clicking on NPCs to push through the content doing mostly menial stuff. Like, you'd hit a story climax and then be back at square one doing starter zone mmo stuff. Also the player is weirdly incentivized not to fight and just run past everything unless they have to fight to fulfill a quest objective due to combat XP being worth dickall.

It's a shame too cause the art and production team definitely put a ton of passion and effort into building everything and then the pacing just torpedoes everything. The game builds up into this honestly incredible castle siege set piece where you're swinging down lines to go beat ass and kicking the ♥♥♥♥ out of hordes big enough to make it feel like Dynasty Warriors and then...pfffbbbbttttt. Back to helping farmers and what not. Then giant demon attack! And back to boring menial stuff. There's some glimmers of really amusing little segments like the demon circus but they're so short that they feel wasted. The main quest line is also just so, so, so long on top of being boring as hell. I've been trying to barrel through it for 30 hours and I'm still not done. That's just excessive for a game genre where you wanna get through to the end game raiding dungeoning etc. stuff.

What sucks more is the skills feel incredible to use and it's probably one of the most dynamic action rpg style games I've ever seen where you feel like a bad ass out of the gate and all your abilities just look rad as hell. Hell, one of the classes just looks like Devil May Cry Gunslinger as an entire ability set. And yet they don't actually seem to want you to enjoy being a bad ass. None of the fights have been even remotely challenging so far either. Even hard dungeons just need you to remember to chug potions and not stand in the red spots and you'll breeze through them. Absolutely baffling.

I'd love to know what end game is like but knowing I've still got five more arks to find and more slogging to do means I just can't muster up the drive to push through it any further.
