I tried it but couldn't get into it. I play magic base in all souls games and I've played ALOT of souls-like but something just a bit off with this one. I couldn't tell when I was being hit, animations looked off, it lacked impact and I think these things are kind of important in a souls-like. I applaud the effort into crafting a magic type souls like but i think it misses the mark but with some tweaks it can become something special.

I'll probably revisit it after some major updates but for now it goes on the shelf.

I'm going through it and I'm liking it, very trippy trip. At first the resetting of skills made me not want to go further but as I explored and started collecting the item that allow you to bring over your skill you learnt in the last run then it started clicking. I'm still on the fence about losing all of your skills you worked hard for but I can look past it because Ultros combat and other trippy stuff is cool.

I think the devs needs to explain some of these mechanics in detail as I was very worried about dropping the wrong seed and what have you. The gameplay loop is still fun but I would of really liked a mode where I don't lose everything I worked for.

I'm okay with walking around, checking emails, voice logs and banter but this game forces you to slowly walk through the entire game and it becomes a chore just getting to the objectives...I wanted to explore because the game is beautiful but it felt like a chore. The QTE was horribly frustrating, I endure this game waiting for the story to open up and it fell flat. The only thing this game got right is the atmosphere and it never reached a point of enjoyment, I just wanted it to be done.

You get in there and you fish, you turn around and you fish then you respect yourself while you fish. Great game.

I really wanted to like this game and I still do but the combat doesn't work especially against multiple enemies which this game does all the time. The combat is suitable for 1 on 1 encounters but not what the game forces you into and the these monsters soak up a lot of hits. You can't heal or really retreat from a fight to switch up your tactics. The character moves, reload, change weapons so slow it gives you no time to act. The game is gorgeous and atmosphere is there. I can usually get past a lackluster story but when the combat and story don't work then I can't recommend this game at its current price..wait for a sale to grab this one.

There's a good game in here somewhere but the combat really breaks it.

Makes me feel like i'm playing a 70's cult horror movie, it is rough around the edges but still interesting to play. I think the resources need to be bumped up a bit because I was struggling to keep ingredients in my inventory. The combat leaves a lot to be desired but it does not ruin the experience. I really wish they left out the chasing stuff or tune it down because it does not add anything but frustration when you are trying to enjoy and explore. Overall I enjoyed it.

This is a really good souls like game. The atmosphere and environments are spot on for what the developers are going for with many twist and turns in the layout. The story is slow but its interesting and not so enigmatic thats usually found in other souls like. I just finished Thymesia and it was good but steelrising is a better take on the same formula although steelrising does do a few things different. I haven’t run into any performance issues running a RTX2080S 87K. I’ve played every souls like that’s available and Steelrising just made my top list of games in this genre.

I pretty much enjoyed this game with the exception of a misstep. The game atmosphere and music is spot on and kept my panic button active throughout the game. The voice acting is mediocre at best (The Caribbean cop accent is horribly bad) and some of the puzzles didn't click with me but did not turn me away from the game. As a fan of 90's horror games I didn't have any issue adjusting to the controls/fixed camera.

Misstep: The panic mini game of controlling your heart beat, didn't quite click at the start for me so I end up getting some characters killed but as I went on I got better at it.

This game is recommended to all the old school Silent Hill/Resident Evil fans.
