Galak-Z. A rogue-like top down space shooter. An important point to remember for one does not criticize vision or what should of been. I believe as long as implementation of design is consistent and integral to vision then no matter your skill, acceptance or acquiescence, as long as game systems are functional, then that is enough for the checkbox to be checked, enjoyment not withstanding.

Galak-Z starts you off in subsequent missions with your ship state carried over from the last mission. Run the last mission well and your ship state will allow for a perhaps easier run through in subsequent missions. Start a mission with a critical ship state and you are tasked with an increasing difficult scenario. Galak-Z as a rogue rewards you in subsequent levels for successful and skilled runs in prior levels. As advertised, the game performs admirably as a member of it's genre.

Where critical review may be enunciated is allowing debate as to the audience, for if the developer wanted to expand their intended audience certainly an additional difficultly setting could of been added. The Witcher 3 after meditation on one setting allows regeneration of health, on another setting the game does not. Certainly there is room in Galak-Z for such an implementation. Tis may not be the original vision of the developers but alas increases accessibility which then in turn motivates to play within the bounds of the original vision. In other words toilet training.

Galak-Z, a game designed to be demanding and replayed. A rogue comfortable in it's own skin and an overhead space rogue certainly worth checking out.
