Grimlord is a standout in VR fantasy.
I played it back near release and ended up completing my first run without dying, despite not usually liking souls-likes. Something about the VR immersion, the world design, and the community just clicked with me.

Combat can be a bit janky in places (like enemy swords clipping through blocks), but it never felt overly punishing. After finishing it, I got hooked on speedrunning: no damage runs, punching-only, etc. It really opened up a side of gaming I always wanted to get into.

I haven't played since due to uni and life stuff, but I’m keen to dive back in soon now that it’s hit 1.0. Even with just one chapter, it was a meaty experience back then. Can’t wait to see it grow into the 5–6 chapter game it’s meant to be.

If you want a VR title with atmosphere, challenge, and speedrun potential, Grimlord is well worth a look.
