Overall, not a horrible game. I did get the game on sale.

Im not going to lie, the game is very grindy and could use some refining in a few areas.

Questing:

As many stated, the quests are all "Go here, kill X, Y and Z" and that's basically it. I have not seen any other type of quests yet besides "Go kill Boss X" or "Kill Y and 'save' Z". So the quests could us some variety for sure. Even a simple "Go Fetch" or Escort quest would be welcome.

Mobs:

Until you get to the higher levels, most enemies are a cake walk, specially if their pathing glitches out and they get stuck in a spin. On top of that, most mobs wont notice you until you are standing 5-10 ft away <Some "Boss" variants engadged from further> which is a blessing and a curse. This makes the NPC feel extremely dumb, specially the ranged ones, but it prevents you from having to tackle all 6 bandits that spawned in the road. So pick your poison there. Apart from that I noticed the mobs don't have much of a difference in their attacks. Sure some dodge rarely, but most just swing or shoot and sometimes have a poison or something like that attached to the attack. The first dungeon boss was literally a larger version of one of the mobs in the dungeon who had about 10 normal ones helping him. I haven't fought anything extremely high level yet, so maybe something will out do the Cougars 3 Rapid Attacks which are pretty easy to dodge.

Combat:

As far as the combat goes, It's also hard to keep an eye on your health as when you get hit it makes the same sound effects as when you hit the enemy and there is a slight darkening of the edge of your vision which you probably wont notice when swinging your arms around. The UI is not attached to your head so you need to look down to see your health and mana and up to see you enemy radar. On top of that, if a "Boss" creature is in the area, an annoying health bar is present which can block part of your vision even when you are not directly engaged with the boss.

Now, I only played the Warrior and I had some difficulties. First and foremost was blocking. I ended up forgoing the shield all together as apparently raising the shield to block doesn't work and the enemy still lands a full hit on you. Instead I just started dodging using the movement rather than the built in dodge mechanic. I found the built in mechanic felt unnatural when it did work and that was rarely and i kept finding that even though the cooldown for the dodge effect triggered, i didn't move. Speaking of timers, when you swung your weapon it would initiate a timer. For the fist part of it, anything you managed to hit would take damage, but then you took some time to "recover". Even if you followed through with a full swing and came back around, chances were you would hit before the timer reset and, well, nothing would happen. This was annoying yes, but the part that annoyed me the most was using my abilities.

This game is not set up for the Index and to switch abilities you needed to use your Right Touch Pad to select which ability you wanted and the left trigger to use said ability. Simple right? No, unfortunately I found even when i thought i selected the ability, it didn't process it so i'd spend a few seconds fumbling over selecting the ability and then finally being able to cast it. As a result, i found using the warriors abilities such as Charge or Taunt were worthless as for some reason it kept deselecting the abilities halfway through combat and I couldn't stop attacking to try and reset them. I resorted to using the heal ability when i could and just swinging a two handed weapon around hoping to cleave as many targets as i could. I can only imagine the pain of playing the caster class. I will say this, from my observations, i would recommend the Archer class as you keep out of harms way for the most part and that would give you some breathing room.

Other Activities:

Apart from the Quest Grind, you got your good old fashion Crafting Grind. Now i was torn on this one. Yes, collecting materials was a point and click, but it would have been nice to use a pick axe and mine the nodes myself or use an axe to cut down trees instead of finding chunks of wood on the ground. So miss opportunity there, Don't need to replace the point and click, just give us the option. Also, leather. I understand animals have different hides, but for simplicity's sake, since all hides are processed into the same leather, just call them Small, Medium or Large Animal Hides. I have a full inventory of various different animal hides which was mildly annoying specially when your having to juggle items early on. And on top of that the resource gathering felt like they were trying to do a "Monster Hunter" type where each area has special resources... but when you need to gather 300 Iron ore, 300 Coal and several hundred jems to makes something worth while, it gets tedious. Not to mention, early crafting isn't worth it as i guarantee you, you will find something better shortly after or the shops will sell you something better or equivalent.

Also, i saw fishing? But couldn't find where. Maybe i misunderstood. Who knows. Also, achievement would help a lot. Give the players goals to achieve which they can boast about!

Anyways, now that my rant is done. Would i recommend trying this game? If it's on sale, yes. This developer seems to be one that's trying to get its roots established which is evident through assets I've personally used and acquired through Humble Bundles. And yes, they released some stuff back in 2017, but it takes years to get things smoothed out and any where near Triple A quality. So if you're a snob? Don't try this. If you're looking for something to burn a couple hours with some friends, sure go ahead, but keep your expectations low. I personally hope to see some changes brought to the game that can make it better as not many games can fit this bill in VR and seeing how they are still pushing updates for the UI and glitches here and there, i believe some hope is justified.

Not going to lie, went into this expecting worse. Over all, the cartoony art style and goofy mobs make it a rather warm hearted game. I'd say its even safe to play infront of the niece and nephew if you ever get stuck baby sitting. Over all the game gave me a early Spyro or Zelda vibe where <at least for me> i spent the first few minutes chasing boxes around and smashing pots in hopes of finding potions or tools to use and then remembering "Oh I was supposed to be doing something..." So, you're looking for a fun, goofy little game to play on your laptop while waiting somewhere? Give it a try, specially if its on sale. Oh, it has a dodge role mechanic, so Souls-like, eh? eh? e? Jk. If this was a AAA game and they were asking 60$-70$-80$ for it, i'd say get get something else.

How ever, as with any good thing, there are a few issues i have. First and foremost was in the world design. I am by no means a professional at this but i have dabbled in world design and optimization. The music was not bad, but there were only a couple of tracks that played which after running through the same handful of rooms several times and having to back track, the music did get bland, felt like i was playing a 2 track tape on repeat. And as i stated "same handful of rooms" is no joke. You have two primary biomes to explore but they are each composed of about 6 to 8 rooms which get slightly re-arranged/change every run. It got to the point where i knew whether or not a mimic was in the room just by walking in which quickly lead to the death of the inquisitive side of me play through as there was nothing else to explore. As for the optimization, it felt something was missed in a few rooms, specially in the garden. One second you're running around frames are find but then you enter the boss room in the garden and your frames are halved. Normally im not a "Frame rate" guy but it seemed the movement of the camera was somehow affected by the frames and in some rooms the camera just felt... spongy and didn't respond well to being moved. But over all that's a small issue as only about 4 rooms had this issue. I also played this on a laptop from like 2010.

The next thing that was a little disappointing to me was the rescuing mechanic. Found a princess/prince you like because of cool perk or ability she gives? Better not rescue her/him then or she becomes unavailable. Doesn't matter that you collected enough gifts that they actually start turning them down due to be maxed out, they're gone the second you rescue them and the only way to get them back is to start over. The only princess that didn't do this was the tutorial princess. Felt kinda like being robbed after you put so much work into leveling up there stats.

The final thing, which isn't even really a complaint, is the combat and classes. You're forced to choose between a randomly Swordsman or Musketeer. Over all, for the simplicity of the game, the classes made sense, but I was annoyed at how slowly each class gained power. Especially early on the bosses felt like a real chore, but as you get to the end-game, the final boss always felt like a slog. Not hard by any means, but the final boss just had such a large hit pull the 1-6 damage your character does leaves you wishing you had brought alot more Tar and Feather. And lord forbid you have a 1 movement character on the jumping platforms. They were do-able but a pain. In short on this one, i felt the character needed to be able to find perks or items that helped improve certain characteristics.

P.S: Didn't remember this cause I found a work around, but if you're playing mouse and keyboard, a-lot of the menus don't work properly. Try using your arrow keys.

TLDR: Good game, Give it a try.

I did not find this game enjoyable. The game has potential, but i kept glitching out, fell through the map a few times and the controls are unintuitive at the start of the game. I spent more time waiting for the map elements to load rather than actually playing and if you have the slightest latency issue with your internet, enemies appear to be god like as they glitch in and out of your sight. Also, the tutorial is not at all challenging enough to teach a new player how the games function and lacks any form of true instruction. though the inaccuracy of the AI make you feel like a boss. Literally stood 2 feet in front of one of them and they couldn't hit me. I spent more time in a discord call asking for a crash coarse walk through from other players. Over all, its feels like just another half baked battle royal game with flashy bits. Oooh Shiny...

First impressions are pretty good, its a fun little 1v1 game right now with mild customization. I dropped right in and instantly started having a blast. Only issue was it appears to be easy to cheat in, about 8 matches in i encounter The Pork Boy who was using a no clip and speed cheat to just glitch all over the map. Besides trolls like him, it was fun.
