Honestly, I spent most of my time breaking maps by abusing the climbing system to its fullest extent. Play with friends who aren’t ♥♥♥♥♥ and are down for a chill puzzle-solver with some platforming.

A lot of purchasable content, with ways to earn that same content through grinding. It’s not as bad as most grind-fests, but the grind is definitely still there. Amazing guns, tons of variety in enemy types and factions, and music that gets you hyped to conquer worlds for the greater “good.”

Only one complaint, though:
Helldivers™ 2, please optimize the damn game. It’s a constant lag spike away from getting you instantly curb-stomped into the dirt.

500 hours in, and I can’t say this enough: RUN. It’s that type of game—the kind that grabs hold and never lets go. An abusive, toxic relationship you just can’t get enough of, and you don’t even know why you keep coming back.
I own most of the DLC, I read every update, I have it on multiple systems, played the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ spin-offs, and still, I can’t tell you why I keep returning.
Maybe it’s the sunken cost fallacy. Maybe it’s something worse. God help me.

Pros: Custom zombies and workshop mods.
Cons: Campaign game-play is okay and story is nonsensical.
Multiplayer is filled with cheaters that trey-arch don't care enough to deal with. There is no safe way to play multiplayer without being booted offline.

Barotrauma is a game that gets repetitive real quick, but despite that gripe, it can be an absolute hoot with friends. The only problem? You need friends—truly the biggest skill issue this game has thrown at me so far. If you don’t have a group to play with, I wouldn’t recommend it at all. But when the stars align and you manage to gather a crew, it’s a total blast fighting for survival together over and over again.

Bought it for the nostalgia, stayed for the custom content.
If you’ve got a group of friends, do yourself—and them—a favor and play the community’s Workshop maps in addition to the OG ones. You’re seriously missing out if you don’t. Some of my best experiences were just having an absolute blast on custom maps.

I just want to play more of it. I feel like I got a free trial and it got ripped away from me early.

Edit 66 hours later: Just play payday 2, it's in a much more finished state than this.

I bought it on Xbox a while ago and was disappointed that I couldn't get more of it, BUT NOW with mods, new DLC, and fabulous hats, I can finally experience what I was looking for on Xbox.
That being said I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Love this game.
from the art style to the platforming and goofy story,
this is a fun time, especially with friends.
