A creepy village, a creepy church, a creepy island, a creepy laboratory, all with creepy enemies. The most balanced Resident evil game in terms of horror and action.

My first ever Resident Evil game I’ve played. I played this back on console when it first came out and I enjoyed it so much that I had to play it again on PC.

Now I know there are some critics claiming that the game took a change in direction from the first three RE games focusing a lot on action and quick time events, but personally I don’t see the big deal. I mean, the game still focuses on survival horror which is what Resident Evil is all about, it still has inventory management, ammo conservation and puzzles, all of which were in the previous three games as well. The enemies and bosses are also quite scary and the merchant is one of the coolest characters in any RE game. Personally, I feel these are great additions to the game as to break away from the usual formula of Resident Evil and to try something new, it also doesn’t overdo the action and quick time events like Resident Evil 6.

Overall, this is easily my favourite Resident Evil game and I hope more fans would come to appreciate this game more.
