If you play this game once, and do not pay attention, everything is "rainbows and sunshines".
The problems this game has are massive, but I haven't seen anyone addressing it.
- Everything is SCRIPT BASED. You are just playing in the line, there is no benefits if you kill enemies or not, because if there is a scene where they should attack you, the game will just spawn new ones.
- Enemies also sometimes teleport to you and kill you despite of being several steps away from you.
- Chainsaw was just a marketing bait, you get to use it twice and it actually sucks, and after few minutes Leon just throws it away.
- Plot is incredibly stupid and dull. It feels almost like a fanfiction rather than actual Resident Evil story.
- Everything that people are gashing over are member berries and key jangling so you may remember stuff from better games.
- I enjoyed Grace's gameplay, but Leon's felt too clunky, and we have a comparison with Remakes of 2 and 4. In here if feels sluggish and like I said, clunky as hell.
- Enemies tend to kill you through the walls.
- Every Boss Fight is a joke. Just "Shoot The Point On The Enemy". On standard difficulty these fights last maybe a minute. Yes every single one of them.
- Third Person Perspective option for Grace is some kind of misunderstanding, because devs decided to punish you if u play like that, and Grace will always trip and fall multiple times when running, which she doesn't do in First Person Perspecive.
- Standard is too easy, Insanity is almost uncompletable if you don't activate unlimited ammo.
- Performance was great, and I put emphasis on WAS. Because I have no idea what happened. I played first time and it maybe lost some frames once in Raccoon City section, the first part of Raccoon. For a few seconds.
As I was playing to get the achievements, 2nd and 3rd time. It just went to s**t and it dropped frames to what if feels like 45fps for the entire section of the first part of Raccoon City.
I really wanted to give this game a positive rating, but there is so many things wrong with it, I just cannot do that.
I had fun at times, I don't regret buying it as a Resident Evil fan. But it is probably second worst mainline RE game right after infamous RE6.

This is literally unplayable.
I love when I do a block to BLOCK an incoming attack and my protagonist just raises her arm to attack the enemy resulting in me dying.
I also love how my sword bugged out when I clicked RT on the Crate I wanted to move and the sword was floating around me and prompts stopped working, forcing me to reset the checkpoint.
I also love how items on characters bug out in the middle of a cutscene.
And I'd forget to mention how much I love the enemies who just magically appear behind your back despite of you being in completely empty enclosed space.
But what I love the most, is the first Boss Battle where after the Clash with the enemy (middle of the fight) he just got stuck in the inaccessible part of the arena and you couldn't progress, you have to reset the fight from the beginning.
Textures load with a delay, Screen Tearing persists even when V-sync is on, not as outrageous as without it but still can be spotted. Framerate was ok in the first 2 sections, despite occasional freezing for a split-second, once I got to the forest area it took a dive from 60 to around 50. Game looks atrociously bad. And I played RE9 on this very PC few days earlier and had no drops whatsoever.
You couldn't even properly create crawling under the tree or through the hole, because twice in my whole adventure with this game my protagonist completed crawling animation and didn't pass through because she got stuck on the textures.
I even forgot to mention when in the cutscene audio turned twice and the entire cutscene was incomprehensible.
What a trash game. Even your "modern audience" didn't come to try this out, but hey, at least you got some twitter likes.

Absolutely unoptimized mess.
RTX 5070, game dips to 30fps constantly, one time even to 28fps and 11fps.
I also felt like my first two games I got in my team people who didn't know what they're doing but the enemy team absolutely decimated us like they already played few hours. My teammates had no kills - yes, seriously.
Let's also add how the game completely feels devoid of life and is completely stiff. Feels and plays like a mobile game.
You call a horse? You don't climb a horse, it spawns under you and despawn if you want to get off.
Horses and Bear that stand in your base? You can't get on them manually, but you can get INSIDE OF THEM and see their jaw and eyeballs from the inside, because lazy devs didn't even bother making them a solid in-game objects, just a standing textures.

The 3v3 format is absolutely a mistake, it should be a larger type of game. And maybe it wouldn't be so bad, maybe it would be at 50% positive reviews, sitting on mixed, if it was optimized, but it isn't.

I will change this review back to a positive it once was if you geniuses start actually permanently banning cheaters.
What are you? Fortnite? Cheaters get banned for a while and they're back to cheating?
Nah. I ain't playing like that.

This never even stood next to the real Painkiller game.
Cringy MCU type quippy humor.
Uninspired levels.
Dull music that desperately wants to be Doom.
This entire game wants to be Doom Eternal for Poor people... but Doom Eternal was $3.99 on last sale, so it even fails at being that.

No environmental storytelling, no puzzles, no good platforming, bunch of empty rooms with ladder or hatch, boring, buggy.
The amount of times my character refused to jump or grab the edge is astonishing.
The amount of times I got stuck and had to struggle with controls because i touched the wall or a door frame when running is also astonishing,
I don't know how I feel about the story, because it isn't terrible but definitely feels off.
I kinda liked the ending tho, ngl.
The game is really short, my playtime is longer because I died multiple times to the unresponsive controls on dual sense, and getting stuck on edges of the door frames.... and I also alt-tabbed the game many times to take breaks because I wasn't really having fun walking through the empty rooms and opening the same hatch for 4-5 hours.

I loved it, despite of the wonky combat.
The story is great, and I'm really glad it made Anti-Woke Grifters lose their minds.
It's the most Japanese Silent Hill game ever made, and it's not because of the settings.
The story is so crazy and convoluted and screws with your brain as you go through it more and more.
The last third of the game goes straight into wacky anime territory stuff.
Meanwhile the topics this game addresses are serious and dark, I would expect nothing less from Silent Hill game.
And it still feels like Silent Hill despite not being set in Silent Hill, I like the phenomenon explaination that allows creators to move out from this one town.

Two things I'd love to be better is combat, which feels clunky. I respect the idea but the execution is lacking, it just needed a more polish, especially since last third of the game puts heavy emphasis on said combat.
And the second one, enemy variety. There is just on memorable monsters in here, outside of the bosses that have their unique designs (most of them at least). And enemies in Silent Hill should have their distinct looks and be memorable.

I don't know however how to feel about locking endings under New Game+ and forcing players to finish the game 3 times to get so called "True Ending".
From one side I like the idea, it makes me want to play NG+ first time in my life, however I'd love to be able to get good ending after my first playthrough like it was always possible in Silent Hill games.

Would heavily recommend if you are not a crybaby crying about women in your games.

It wasn't that bad.
If something, it was overwhelmingly unbalanced. And had some cheat problems.
But the game was... fine.
Managed to complete achievements before they shut it down.

The game feels undercooked.
- On RTX 3060 and i9 10900KF my performance depends on the mood the game has. One day it works pretty well with some occasional stutters, other day it just lags, drops frames and stutters like crazy.
- The section I played, is supposedly a tutorial because it's Hagga Basin, I feel tired just collecting the same stuff over and over again and being told what I should Build.
- I had my base, but structures and crates I built on the rooftop. It was fine for 2 days I played. After that I had to take a break 3-4 days. I come back, my entire base is stripped naked and I am left with nothing after, I just wasted my time.
- The NPC AI is terrible. There are enemies on the big base you can raid. 2 of them can get stuck and will shout and try to shoot you through the wall or a celling.
- At one point one of the enemies went full Michael Jackson and moonwalked out of the closed room after I opened the door.
- Servers are really limited, if there is a certain server you want to get onto because u have friend who played in early access, you can't and you can't play together or your friend has to throw out their entire progress out of the window because the servers are literally LOCKED and you can't join, even if you'd be willing to wait in Queue.
- And the game will make you wait till it "Builds Shaders" if you haven't played in 3 days...

Beautiful game. Something Experimental turns out to work!
I had fun playing the game, fighting the nightlords.
Solo queue with Randoms isn't that bad (with the exception of the last Nightlord).
Usually people are playing together, help out and don't leave each others, which shows the community in a very good light.

However lack of communication in the game, not even a text chat, seems to be a big obstacle. It makes harder to organize.
And somehow, the last Nightlord... I don't know what happened, but there is plenty of leavers playing that Nightlord run, and they leave because they are terrible, jumping on hard bosses on Level 2 or 3.
Seems that leaving penalty should be longer, because they don't seem to care much.

Other than that, great experience, stable servers.
With firends over discord, probably a no brainer for a Souls fans.
