If there ever were a game to get on steam I'm pretty sure this is the one. The games that come with it are excellent and provide a great way to get started, but the DLC's take it up a step and really are well designed (well, most of them anyway)

However, its the workshop where this game excels. Give people the tools and freedom to create their own board games and hooooooly s*** the things people will do. The modding community for this game takes it from a decent value for the price, to worth every. single. dime.

I cannot give this game enough of a recommendation, it is easily one of the best games on steam and should be a no brainer. 10/10 would roll for blame again.

I haven't done a review in a while, that said.

Is the game perfect? Not by a freakin longshot. There are some GLARING issues, They stand about 9-10 feet tall, covered in white fur and can punch you hard enough you think you were in a boxing ring. The terrain can be a gigantic pain in the tail, especially in caves where the invisible walls have nearly caused me to break my mouse in frustration, the geometry can be finicky as all hell, and the missions are a bit tedious sometimes.

THAT BEING SAID.

Is the game fun?

Absolutely. It is a genuinely enjoyable game, the graphics engine is stunning and reminds me very much of a certain viking game. The map is gigantic save for a few off limit areas, not sure if those are there just because or if we can unlock them later but overall, you have a lot to explore. Crafting is simple and to the point, go here, gather things, make other things, use other things to make better things, its survival, it's not rocket science though, that brings up a philosophical question for another place and time. For me I'm running an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with a GTX 1660 Super and it runs relatively fine. I get stuttering here and there but that's more connectivity than graphics.

Combat is a bit...wonky, But it's still better than some other games I've had the misfortune of playing. Spears take a while to get used to because they actually carry weight, you actually have to practice using them and throwing them and figuring out their arc and path. However once you actually get there, there is nothing more satisfying than chucking a spear through a bear's head and watching that frick fall face first into the mud. Especially if it's the same bear that's killed you not once, not twice, but three Fracking times in a row. Bows are even better, there is something BRUTALLY satisfying about seeing a small dot of a deer across the lake, lining up your shot and letting it fly and seeing the kill cam activate as the arrow you crafted gracefully goes through its orbital socket. (Best sniper simulator 2021 just saying)

Gathering is easy enough, find cave, mine cave, refine ore. Though the pneumonia mechanic is a pain in the behind sometimes.

The Talent tree is easy enough to understand, as is the "tech" tree. (For reference talents are your innate traits, pickaxe swing speed, being able to see game highlighted when you aim or draw back etc. Tech is the stuff you can actually craft, furnaces, tables, housing materials etc.)

I don't really like the "Workshop" in the station, some of the stuff in it seems..kinda useless, but to each their own.

The game is good. It's not game of the year material, it's not the greatest game in a generation. But keep in mind, the game has been out for literally a week. There are mission timers that are JUST now running out from when the game launched. I get it. yeah, the game should probably still be in Early Access, but it's not the worst thing to ever come out. It's not a scam game, it's not a ripoff, it's not broken beyond fixing. It's the first week, the devs have been upfront about things, they're working to fix issues.

If you're not happy with it take your refund and get the hell out.

At the end of the day it's a good survival game and given time and care from the dev team provided they don't give up on it I could see this being a really really good game in the future, Icarus has so much potential and I can't wait to see how it plays out.

Do I recommend it? Heck yes. Grab yourself a spear and go bear hunting.

So a couple of things. This game taught me I have an intrinsic instinct to use my friends as meat shields when **** goes pear shaped. 2nd thing. This game taught me that in a situation involving cannibals, terror, and darkness, I will scream in an octave that only james blunt can hear. 3rd. This game taught me that I do NOT do well in high stress situations and in the event of a cannibal disaster, my leg will be part of a happy meal within the first 20 minutes.

Play this game with your friends at night with the lights off. They wont be your friends the next day.

10/10 would abandon my friends to be cannibal food again.

This game will put the fear of whatever god you believe in into you. Especially when the rest of your teamates become ground beef from a fleshpound cornering them and guess what, you're the last chuckle**** alive and there's still 55 enemies all wanting to take a chunk out of your behind and you're armed with a pistol. the maps are well designed, the weapon selection is satisfying enough, and the class system has a niche for every person who plays. I have had one or two problems with getting bugged out when others run into me but nothing that breaks the game overall. while you're running through a corridor with a bunch of crawlers nipping at your heels like you're a running kebab.

8.5/10 Would scream in terror seeing 5 fleshpounds coming at me again.

Let me start by saying that, yes, like other reviewers have mentioned, the Radio in this game is freaking amazing. There's a station called EuroTruck Radio, it's a legit ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ radio station. DJ's and all. Live. Out of GB. That right there should tell you something.

Moving on to the game itself. This game is meditation and relaxation incarnate. There is something cathartic about riding down the streets of GB or Germany or Denmark watching the scenery pass by, yelling at incompetent NPC drivers, and making delieveries that just brings a sense of calm and peace to ones soul. At first you have to start out doing random jobs from the list in trucks supplied to you for one delivery at a time, saving up that little bit towards your first truck, after you get that first truck, you really feel a sense of pride and accomplishment as it opens up free drive to you! The world is yours to explore!

There ARE one or two minor gripes about the game, the graphics engine could do with an overhaul, even on High settings it still looks slightly dated but not enough to take away from the beauty of the game itself. And sometimes the NPC drivers can be a bit idiotic, cutting you off and then stopping RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ROAD! *ahems*

Look, this game is a must have. Like it's one of those games that everyone should at least try out for a few hours because you're gonna be hooked on it. There's something about driving down the back roads of Denmark at 6:00 AM in the morning as the sun's coming up blasting the radio at full volume that just puts you in a good mood.

There's only ONE other thing I'd like to point out. The modding community and just the community of players in general is amazing. You will not find a nicer group of people online short of the people who play Stardew Valley. See you on the road!

This is one of those games, that especially in the current climate, show you the dangers of how quickly one little incident can escalate into full on nuclear war. It also shows you the consequences of said war, and how once you pull the atomic trigger, the only "winner" is the countries that don't have nuclear weapons, because the rest of the world is glowing in a mix of atomic glass and dead bodies.

The soundtrack makes you question your morals at every turn, and you leave with an overwhelming sense of "what the hell have I done?" before going back and playing the next round

10/10 would nuke the Northern Hemisphere again as a PSA.

SO, an updated review, I've spent over 1400 hours in this game. First off this game is addictive af. Everything you've heard in meme's about this game is absolutely freaking true. The grind is absolutely insane, it will pull you in and never let you go, and you will grind for eternity. Want that fancy weapon you see other people using, prepare to grind for it. You want that awesome gold trimmed frame everyone has, prepare to grind your ass to kingdom come for it. Second, fashion frame is real, you will spend a lot of time changing colors and appearances to make your frame your own.

The story, is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, fabulous. It has taken a while but DE has made one of the greatest storylines in an MMO. With some pretty awesome twists along the way. The movement mechanics flow amazingly well and are fun as hell especially when you bounce off a wall into a crowd of enemies and just obliterate everyone in a 40m radius. The combat is stellar. The aresnal of weapons in this game is enough to make even the most picky person happy, and they are always adding more.

With the addition of open world gameplay via Cetus and Fortuna, this game is proving again and again why it's one of the most played games on Steam. It's F2P, yes, there's a store, but you can get EVERYTHING in game with grinding. The community is amazingly nice and if you find the right clan, it's absolutely worth the amount of time you'll eventually sink into it.

This is the Diablo III That never was to put a fine point on it. Went into this game with all the hopes I carried from Diablo II and all the dissappointment from Diablo III. To my surprise the game is actually quite fun once you get the hang of it, and believe me you will be getting used to it for about an hour. Let me start with the gripes, No quest log that I've been able to find after a day of play. The chat can freaking break the game if it gets out of hand, not because of what's being spammed, it's because it's so intrusive that it cuts off half the screen but can easily be hidden. Right then, onto the good bits, and there are many.

Any player that is familiar with Diablo will be familiar with the character selection screen. Pick your class and pick a name. You can also choose a "League" 2 of which that I've played being Domination and Nemesis. Domination lets the enemies use altars to (much to my dismay as they flung my corpse around once or twice) Use power-ups to give them an edge. Nemesis adds in another random part to the enemy name which can make them controller snappingly difficult at some points. But even when you're grinding your teeth you'll still be enjoying it.

The skill system is quite interesting, instead of picking active skills you get your magic and powers from socket gems that can be put into your weapons and armor. They range from a rain of fiery death, to an ice wave that can freeze enemies solid. The "Passive" skill system in the game is quite interesting, and while it takes a bit to grasp the way it works, it reminds me very much of the "Sphere Grid" from Final Fantasy X.

Overall the game's community is exteremely friendly and helpful. There's no pay to win, and while it could use a few hints at the very beginning, it becomes quite a timesink after a few hours. No reason not to give it a shot.

A stupid, horribly designed, pointless shooting game, its you against an endless army of giant insects giant robots and giant buildings all of them hating your exsitence. the voice acting is so poorly done you'll be laughing the entire time, the weapons are an endless variety of friendly fire and colorful explosions that can level entire skyscrapers with one shot...oh and they kill bugs too. A mediocre game that is one of the best games you can possibly buy on steam. Its a hilariously good time. 9/10 a must buy just for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles :3
