It's 2026, gameplay mechanics are straight up from 2016, but could be compared with 2006 18 WoS games. Instead SCS decided to bet on graphics which compared to games made on modern tech is straight up bizarre. Bugfixes are taking literally years, community opinions are ignored. And there are map DLCs. All year round. For indie game price few times a year. SCS is literally Ubisoft of trucking sims except they have no competition.

TL;DR: Bad value for the money, needs a ton of major patches today, yet we got few minor ones for last 5 months, so far looks like predecessor is better and will be for next few YEARS.

Two steps forward, two steps back in the series, still barely playable after 5 months, priced as ready to go AAA title but feels more like an early access. It might has better gamecode and some bright future, but as of right now, it has less content, no mods, more bugs and worse optimalization than Cities Skylines 1, yet support of the game in terms of quantity and quality of patches is simillar to what they did for C:S1 when it was over 8 years old with close to none bugs and a lot of DLC's content. Tbh in terms of C:S2 it feels like they did nothing since november, but in fact they did something, which only shows how unready this game was back then and still is. This game needs urgent hotfixes NOW. What's the point of releasing new game when it's not better than the previous one? Other than cashgrab...

But, despite all negativity, it's not a bad game either, even in current state. It's quite fun, lovely looking and some QOL improvements makes it really more enjoyable than C:S1 in many terms. For a dozen of hours. But then you're reaching the point when you can't enjoy it no longer because either bugs, optimalization, lack of content or serious simulation issues and you realized it was not a thing in C:S1.

9 years ago when I've wrote this review for the first time, Counter Strike had no real competitors in the genre thus was the best team play first person shooter on the market. Now, 9 years later, someone at Valve thought it's a good idea to shift the game towards mainstream shooters and made this game CoD'like. Wider audience, nicer graphics, what could go wrong? Oh, yeah, now you've got competition. And guess what? This game is no longer best in the genre, hell, it's not even competitive against other titles - your main game mode is infested with cheaters and game core is collapsing under it's own mass. If you're new to the Counter Strike just skip it, don't hope "it will get better very soon" as the whole past CS:GO community did for the last year. What you see is what you get boyz, remember. All what I see is no future.
