This game is a really great new twist on a classic style of game. The old game series where you'd fly a helicopter around, saving guys with your ladder and fighting enemies all over the map as you did little missions.

It's like those old games but with a slightly customizable car selection and zombies. Grab it if you like zombies and see it on sale, it's a very fun smaller title.

For Returning Dynasty Warriors Fans
So, first I'll just say to all the people who have played a Dynasty Warriors game one thing: It's still Dynasty Warriors. The formula doesn't change much, the graphics get upgrades and the system gets minor tweaks. But overall, Dynasty warriors stays the same over time. However, this time around we gain Ambition mode!

Ambition mode lets you pick a character you have unlocked (via story or one of the starters) to start your own 'faction' and grow in power. You'll do battles to gain allies, fame, and resources, as well as upgrading new facilities and eventually building the massive temple I can't remember the name of. It's a pretty cool mode and adds a lot of replay value over just spamming free mode once you finish storylines.

Potential New Fans
If you've never played a Dynasty Warriors game, then go into it understanding one core bit of knowledge: It's a hack and slash beat'em up. You'll ride around the battle field completing objectives, but mostly you're massacreing hapless soldiers and battling other generals and lieutenants. Occasionally getting demolished by Lu Bu. There are a ton of storylines to play through, as well as a massive amount of characters with unique move sets.

I personally love the series, but it's not for everyone. I recommend watching a gameplay video before making your decision.

Leisure Suit Larry is one of those old nostalgia games with pervy humor and something I know I was amused by when I was a kid and got ahold of it. The game has been revitalized and revamped to this new state, but remains the same game it was all those years ago.

If you enjoyed that game and want to re-experience it? Great, this is a solid purchase for you! But otherwise, this is just a very dated point and click adventure. One that I enjoyed and was amused by, but I probably will never play through a second time.

I have my early access review below, quoted. I had suggested the game then. Times changed, development created frustration, and then when it launched it did so at a cheaper price than we paid for early access.

If I had it to do again, I wouldn't buy the game.

"I have been told it's very similar to Terraria, but I have no experience with that game and only a small amount with Minecraft. Why? These games bore me to tears typically. I get on, play for 20-30 minutes and then lose interest in them. Nothing usually catches me.

But yet the early beta of Starbound has been exceptionally fun to me. I'm not really sure which point appeals to me the most, so I'm going to just discuss the parts that I enjoy.

The first one is the variety of species, both for your own character and as inhabitants of the various worlds. It's fun to run into an Apex (Ape People) science facility on one planet, then stumble into a prison on another with every species you can think of held captive. And that's not even including the wide array of native animals you find on every planet. I've yet to see the same exact alien on multiple planets that wasn't a major species of humanoid.

Another interesting aspect is that you can travel all these worlds, with each one being different in one way or another. Exploring them, harvesting on them, hunting on them. And then just return back to your ship whenever you're on the surface from any part of the world by simply having Scotty beam you up. (Disclaimer: It's not actually Scotty, but we can pretend.) You can decorate your ship (And they are working on adding ship customization due to the popularity of the ship customizing mods that are available) and turn it into a mobile base of operations, a home, a giant storage facility, whatever.

The downside is the way that advancement is basically throttled by boss fights. You can gather and create a ton of things, but eventually to advance to the next tech tier you have to build a specific boss summoning item from your current tier. Defeat the boss, get their drop, and use it to create the next tech tiers item and advance forward. I hate this aspect because it takes away a lot of control in a sandbox experience.

With things like building your own Mechs, customizing your space ship, and flying hoverbikes on the horizon? I'm excited to see the beta advance further. But be warned! The game is currently wiping characters in the early beta, though that won't be lasting much longer."

Early Access Review
As the game advances to retail, I'll write another review (Or update this one). But for the time being, it has freshly entered Alpha. As a disclaimer, it should be made clear that an Alpha of a game is a very unfinished and unstable product. Typically Alphas are not available to the masses due to that fact. The unfinished aspect can put off a lot of potential customers and manage to get a lot of negative press. So go into that knowing that this is in the ALPHA state of the game, not even to the Closed Beta. If you've played a Beta, you probably think "Oh well Betas should be this way" - This is before a beta. And most of the betas the majority of people have played are really just stress tests and advertising for a game before release. Now, onto the review of the DayZ Alpha.

A lot of things have changed since the beginnings as an Arma II Mod, the most noticable being the inventory. It's gone from the very clunky gear menu that had designated slots to a more versatile and complex system that takes some getting used to. Initially you'll start wearing a shirt and pants (With four small slots of inventory in the pockets), as well as shoes. Different items take up different sizes, some requiring you to wear a Backpack to store them. What's fun about this is that you can get a ton of different item storing things. Currently I'm wearing a tactical vest that I have my clips in, a chest holster with my sidearm holstered in it, with a rifle and a bat on my bag. As well as a backpack, pants, and shirt with pockets. So I can carry a ton of items right now. At first I hated the Inventory system, but as I grew used to it it started to make a lot more sense. It is a more realistic approach to carry capacities (To a degree, your backpack still holds an insane amount. You're some kind of packing genie).

One of the things that has changed for the worse, in my eyes, is the food and drink system. You're basically playing with an adult Tamagotchi. They'll whine they're hungry and thirsty nonstop, even immediately after you've had a drink. At this current stage, that's a little frustrating. You can die of starvation without much work, but you can delay it by walking more. Long gone are the days of sprinting everywhere and finding masses of food and drink at a grocery store. You'll scrape to get by and have to live off of rotten fruit and pond water at times. And probably get sick and throw up.

That said, it's been a ton of fun so far. Whether you want to handcuff a random Survivor you meet and draw blood from them for a transfusion to a injured buddy, force feed some food into a buddy that's passed out from starvation, or battle the occasional (And I do mean occasional, the zombie population is not very high currently.) zombie; the options are there for you to do quite a bit for how early in the Alpha it is.

Features still not implemented:
- Vehicles
- Storage (Tents and the like)
- Base Building
- The Northernmost portion of the map (North of Starry, for the veteran Day Z players)

I'll update the review later down the road as more features are implemented or refined to keep it accurate to the current state of the game.

A bit bias as a big fan of the Western Era, but Gunslinger is a ton of fun. It takes liberties with history, of course, but it's still a great western story. The skill system is a great way to get a little more out of the play as various kill types yield different XP amounts, rewarding head shots and range the most. You can then specialize toward your preferred style and go from there.

There are three main modes. The Story itself, which is pretty interesting if you can set aside reality for a bit. A little suspension of disbelief is needed for any game, though. The next mode is Arcade, where you play through aiming for points and trying to hit high scores. And the final is duels, where you run a gauntlet of quick draw duels. Each mode is fun and worth a play through.

Great game for surviving a zombie apocalypse. It takes a similar concept to Dead Rising when it comes to "Oh there are various survivors around and if you ignore them they'll die", but it's got a much more serious approach. Noise matters, there are hordes that roam and wander, you have a base to upgrade/maintain.

It's a blast to play, the story is nothing phenomenal but it is fairly interesting. The most fun is setting up outposts, raiding for supplies, and just building up a strong base of survivors and protecting them.

It's the zombie survival fantasy every zombie fan sits and talks about.

I have something like 400 hours played on DayZ since it was a baby mod. Some through Steam, some through DayZ Commander, and some through Six-something that's gone now.

It's derailed into what is basically just an FPS with zombies and a very, very large map. But when it started (And you can still find this on some servers if you look), it was about that struggle to get gear, to get going, to find the next bite to eat. Finding a car and then spending a few hours just getting parts to get it going.

The fun has always involved other survivors for me, whether I'm being a bandit or I'm being stalked by one. It's great. That element is still there, but after you play for a while zombies and the gear grind become a nonfactor. You'll build up stockpiles around the map and death will become a minor inconvenience in your adventures.

It's an amazing game, try it if you have ARMA II and ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead. If not, you may want to wait for the Standalone which shouldn't be super far off.

ARGGGH, PIRATES!

I love the Assassin's Creed series, I've played them all. But in this one I didn't care about the Assassin story, at all. Hell, I still haven't even finished the story. I've got 37 hours played about 30 of those were just sailing. If you're familiar with Sid Meier's Pirates, it's very obvious it influenced the sailing here. It's a modern version of that, with the same great elements. It's a blast to sail around battling and capturing ships, hunting beasts of the sea with Harpoons, and just living the pirate life.

The Assassin story is good, so far, but the real love for me is the sailing. So rare you get to enjoy that pirate style of game play.

Batman is back!

Some of the charm of the predecessors has been lost, we've lost Mark Hamill. We've also lost the only man to ever really voice Batman great. That said, the replacement voice actors aren't too shabby and can grow on you once you move past the change.

The real bummer is the change to the combat. It's not BAD, per se. Just not the beautiful rhythm and flow that made the previous Arkham games so amazing, as they got rid of that rhythm in favor of difficulty. Which at times gets very frustrating. There are also a few issues with it (Such as double counters sometimes not actually stopping the 2nd attacker from just nailing you as you do the animation), but they've been sorting those out with patches.

That said, the story is fun. It's great to be playing Batman during that early story arc, to have an epic duel with Deathstroke. It's a good game, but it could have been great.
