Dead game, can't even play it or find matches

Why this ♥♥♥♥ $9 when the base game is $15, it's literally only one map.

Over the past 3 years of playing this, I always come back to see more content. Even after 800 hours I’ve yet to finish the complete main story (dlc included). I’ve always wanted an rpg that I can keep coming back to and not get bored of it. I absolutely love the final fantasy franchise and the community that FF14 has is the nicest and most helpful I’ve ever seen. When it comes to helping in dungeons or outside combat, everyone will always stop to help. This is what makes a great mmorpg.

As much as this game is enjoyable, when playing with friends the game will not read or pick up audio input from guys, only works for women. Is this a bug or is the game sexist?

Not playable on steamdeck, there is no text nor dialog boxes, the game hangs when there should be text.

My friend referred to this game as "Anime game with boppin Asian music"
I'm still trying to figure out how this game fits that description, one day I might understand.

I really wish I could recommend this game, however this has to be one of the worst ports I have experienced myself. Lightning Returns had a small patch very recently, but they straight up don't care about fixing this port. If anything this is more like a crashing simulator than an actual FF game. When you try to launch the game, it acts like it flips a coin to see if you are even allowed to play it. You have a very high chance to crash whenever you get to a cutscene or an auto save location, specifically using the Historia Crux.


For anyone who tries to play this I strongly recommend doing the following:
1) Disable Cloud Saves , in the start up menu for the game, it straight up says that saving may take awhile due to cloud saves, I think they confused taking awhile with crashing. This should be done before starting a save, if you want to do it after, simply make a back up of your save file, located at <Steam-folder> /userdata/ <user-id> /292140/remote/ and move it to %LOCALAPPDATA% \SquareEnix\FinalFantasyXIII-2\save, create the folders if you need to.
2) Install FF13Fix, https://github.com/rebtd7/FF13Fix
3) Install 4GB Patch, https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371


Disabling cloud saves and installing the mod and patch stopped most crashes from occurring, they still happen but its very infrequent. The only downside to this is that the game may randomly freeze at times, only solution I see for that is to just tab out if you are in fullscreen, only a temporary fix of course.

Easy Bots have apparently found and leaked my location to everyone.

This game is an absolute masterpiece, the music, the gameplay, the story, everything. There was not one part of this game that I didn't enjoy, aside from trying to fish up the guardian without reading the fishing books, but hey that's on me. I had never played a Persona game before, but I had always wanted to and I never knew how much I needed this until I played the game.

There seems to be an issue with steam not giving an option to boot up with VR or not, it just defaults to VR, it appears that this prompt will come up 30% of the time. Also chapter 2 is now locked behind the full version of the game, even though it was part of the free demo before...
