An interesting game that combines your standard rogue-like with a shop simulator. Game has a decent art style and is easy to get into. The only downside is it feels way too short. If you are decent at dodging this becomes much too easy to kill even the toughest bosses (just takes forever) and you spend most of you time grinding for gold or mats for upgrades.

Overall a 7/10, good looks, decent game play, short length, boring gameplay loop

A fun game that fills me with nostalgia for my PS2 days when i actually had time to play games. Would love to see more of the series added to steam and more new games added.

I first played this game when it was first released and even after all these years it stands the test of time. I currently own this game across 3 different platforms and have over 100 hours and multiple playthroughs completed for it. Brutal Legend is a game with an interesting setting and stunning look and feel. I was never a great fan of metal music before playing this game but I found some awesome songs while playing and that really peaked my interest. There is a fare amount of blood and swearing, though this can be turned off at the start of the game. I am truly saddened by the fact that this is the only game in the series and that more weren't made.

If you like metal music and/or game setting, you like action adventure games, or you like visually stunning worlds and interesting world building i would HIGHLY recommend this game!

Edit: I have to say, everyone has that one game the play either once a year or every X number of years and this is that game for me. I realize the story itself can be quite short but i still enjoy it and doing all the sidestuff still makes it fun for me. I also have to admit i think i know the reason this game failed, its because it was a game released for time that had passed. The beautiful storytelling and almost episodic style of Metal has seemed to vanish and this game is a love letter by, about, and to that metal.

I was quite excited to see this game go out for free on Humble Bundle. Hopefully if enough people play it and have an interest in it the developer will see that a sequal might be a good idea (unwarrented optimism i know).

Bastion is one of those unique games that really show the talent of a developer. This was the first game developed by Supergiant games and they knocked it out of the park. The art style, while it may not for everyone, makes the game feel like a painted picture. The game play is strong with plenty of replayability between the different weapons, the challenges, the dreams, and the different god modifiers. Last, but by NO means least, is the music. If anything else i will always praise Supergiant Games for the absolutly amazing music they made for this game and Transistor. If nothing else get the soundtrack, Bastion and Transistor are examples of the power and beauty of a well made original soundtrack.
