Do not buy this game, it's a gatcha grab with a cheap initial buy in. The core game is locked behind DLC and it tries to hook you in by making the absolute basics (furnace, campfire, crafting bench, walls, even dirt foundations and so on) locked behind levelling. I enjoy a grind, but there's a needless amount of level locking and a clear cut case of making the player work to be able to get the tools meant to experience the base game.
Once you've gotten into it you'll see that the actual game is all the DLC needed. Most of the missions and content are locked behind the absurdly priced DLC, if you buy just the game, you're buying a demo.
Again this feels like it's trying to give you a taste of what the game has to offer, put arbitrary road blocks in the way to stall progression and then make you buy your way through paywall after paywall.
Through and through I've felt annoyed with it's gameplay loop, and that there'd be a very small window where I could consider it tolerable playing with friends daring close to fun before we'd have to pull out our credit card to experience the game.
Friend bought this for me for 3$ on a hefty sale and he'd have been better off spending it on a coffee, waste of time and disk space.

My new favorite game, it's an absolute blast alone or with friends. If you're on the fence about it: the game is free, download it and give it a go!

Definitely a GOTY contender, I have a hard time completing single player games no matter how good they may be, but this has been an exception, it's been a blast, and I'm going on multiple playthroughs of it as I enjoy it that much. You get to cut through robots to the rhythm of the beat, the bosses are loads of fun to take on, there's also a decent chunk of post game content for replayability even if you're not trying to 100% the game. The humor is great, the gameplay is awesome, the story is solid and got me attached to the characters. I cannot recommend this title enough, I'd have paid double for an experience as enjoyable as this, honestly haven't enjoyed a game and been this invested into one for a very long time. My only complaint is there isn't a full soundtrack for purchase as .flac files or equivalent high fidelity audio to jam out to the music when I'm not playing. I'd recommend this game to anyone who wants satisfying, rhythm based combat, beating the game once is one thing, beating the game with an S rank on harder difficulties is a whole new challenge that'll keep you invested in improving your timing, rather than mashing through like any old hack n slash.
If you're still not sure about it after reading the reviews, Steam allows refunds so long as you've put less than 2 hours of gameplay in. But I promise you, that refund will never happen and you won't regret it.

If you enjoy roguelike dungeon crawlers, this is definitely something you'll want to look into. You shoot, dodge and reload, all to the rhythm of the beat. By far my favourite rhythm game and likely also my favourite roguelike I've played. The soundtrack is phenominal, purchased it and the FLACs you get bring a whole new life to the songs you'll be accustomed to.
Once you get into it, don't get discouraged off the bat, takes a few hours to get yourself sync'd up to reacting on beat.

A few tips for beginners:
Just start off getting used to firing on beat, you can fire on the half beat with many weapons but when you first begin just worry about the main beats

Getting used to the music is as important to getting used to the enemies, starting a new floor with a new song can throw you off a bit, take it as a learning experience

Standing still will often end in death, keep yourself moving and once you get a feel for each enemy dodging them feels natural.

Last but not least: best not to be in a voice chat with friends. Not the end of the world but the more you focus on the music the better you'll be. I can barely hit a beat if I'm talking but to each their own.

This is one of my absolute favourite games, I've never found another rhythm game where I'll sink so many hours into it, listening to the songs time and time again as I play, then log off and blast the soundtrack on my way to work. Truly a gem in my eyes.
