What an amazing game!

I loved the story, the ethical questions behind it all, the gameplay, and the graphics.

I livestreamed it on Twitch and really enjoyed the stream integration. Having the possibility to discuss every single dialogue option and let people vote on what to pick, while still being in control of the final decision, was really fun.

I haven't had that much fun in a long time. Thanks, 11 bit studios. Also, kudos to Alex Jordan's voice acting, who managed to give all 12 characters, even though they are all clones of Jan Dolsky, a unique and distinguishable voice.

Early Access Review
Played it in co-op. Game kept crashing on the host and resetting progress for both of us. After the third crash we decided to stop playing. Don't bother until the autosave is configurable to intervals below 5 minutes (currently wsweems to be around 25 minutes?) or learn to live with losing progress.

The Demo was very nice. Combat is solid. I'd love to see what items and skills get added to the shop and how you can customize your characters and what other synergies there will be available.

Beautiful visuals, good gameplay.

This game would highly benefit from a new difficulty level, which is right between the adventure and story mode. In adventure the fights are often too hard and become frustrating fast, while in story mode they become meaningless. Something in-between where you have a couple of allowed failures would make the game better for players like me.

This DLC as well as the main game would highly benefit from a new difficulty level, which is right between the adventure and story mode. Gave this game three separate tries now.
Once at release (solo).
Then again in co-op after “multiplayer” was fixed.
Now again with the corvette-class ship upgrade (again co-op).

If you’re expecting an amazing co-op experience where you build toward the same goal together with your friends, or fly around together on a corvette you spent your shared resources on, be warned: none of that is easily possible, or even supported.

I had my co-op partner, who was “crewing” (as in: standing in) “my” corvette, fall through the ground on multiple occasions when landing in the anomaly.

Storage is not shared. You can “send” base resources to each other when close, but sending more complex parts like corvette parts or upgrades for your tools, etc. is not possible.

You want to "refine" something from the 30 different materials you have in your backpack? Well good luck finding it in a 2x4 paginated window that pops up, instead of using your entire screen.

The corvette is not supported by most of the landing pads (since the corvette was added later to the game). So you have to land outside and walk towards every single trading hub you encounter.

None of the gameplay loops that we’ve discovered so far are really well done, which makes every new landing on every new planet in every new system a tedious chore of the same types of tasks: scan everything you can, get the same resources to survive, build the same “block base” just to be able to teleport. Talk to every NPC you find through boring dialogues to get the words and “rewards”, increase standing, and continue with the main mission.

Oh your friend talked to this npc and already learned a new word from them? Well too bad, you are now locked out.
Oh, your friend clicked the wrong thing and his standing decreased? Well, too bad. Now your progress is desynced, and you have to hope he can raise his standing fast enough to continue.

I know this game came a long way with false promises in the beginning being implemented years later and I do get the comeback story for long standing players that like the base idea of the game.

But holy hell, don't get the game if you think it will be a solid co-op title.

Ah yeah and if you are expecting a good VR experience (played VR for like 2-3 hours), also forget about that. Keybindings are wonky and VR seems to have been added as an afterthought.
