Not as spooky as I thought it would be but great story telling. A few good jump scares but very subtle. Reminded of a mix of Layers of Fear, Amnesia, and RE2 Remake.

Emika Games just gets better at their craft. Amazing short horror games that spook the living daylights out of you. Highly recommend playing all their games during October if you want some good cheap jumpscares and creep factor.

My non-biased review: Cringeworthy RPG made by a great guy!
Some minor typos. Solid gameplay with very tough challenges, Despite me playing on casual mode.
oh, did I mention there's casual mode? Also chests with funny sayings.
Very final fantasy inspired. 8/10 game despite everything.

**Buyer Beware**

Don't waste your money on this game if you don't want to spend the time troubleshooting it.
My main issue was getting passed the title screen when it says "Press any key", The game would immediately hang then crash- or crash upon pressing any key.
The solution for this is to edit the AC.ini file and set the refresh rate to 60. 2nd option is to limit the frame rate in your graphic panel. 3rd option, which worked for me, is to use Nvidia Profile Inspector to limite the frame rate.

Okay, now I got that out of the way, the game play is very fun. the story is meh. Evie is attractive.

You still get the wacky sillyness from the other games in the series but this one is non-somnium very escape-room heavy with more puzzles. There were two puzzles that confused me the most in the entire game. It is during the subway train section escape room section with the freezer/plate and colored alcohol drinks.

Feels like a game mode DLC for Elden Ring. There's no stat leveling. You level up each match, Drop in, and prepare for the final boss; You wont find much time to explore. Levels reset at the end of each run.

Consider this a rogue-like with souls mechanics. It's not for every souls veteran who are looking to level up stats and explore at their own pace. Muscle memory is still key in exploring and defeating bosses.

Wish I grew up playing this game. Definitely can see the charm and nostalgia of playing this back in the day. Loved that it supports 4K 240hz

If you enjoyed the past beat-em-up Yakuza games, along with the amazing story, you'll definitely enjoy this banger. Its got air combos, new moves, and new mechanics. Heck, you get to even do some pirate sailing and ship combat! I, myself, enjoyed it very thoroughly. Got all the achievements. Loved every bit of it.

Season 1.5: My game still crashes after about 2-4 games. I have to manually restart the game so it clears whatever bug or memleak that's causes the crash.

Season 2: Experimental Shader feature was added to the launcher and it seems to have fixed the crashing issue and also got a bit more performance out of it.

Iffy story pacing. Half the quests felt like side quests.

Awesome boss fights. Very cinematic and anime-like.
Amazing Ending! Bittersweet.
