For those that come after…

I’m not first nor will be the last to say this, this game is a terribly unique piece of art, and has been my upmost pleasure to have been able to played this.

The short? If you liked the trailer and enjoy engaging combat (even if you don’t like turn based), you’ll love this game. Go into the game as blind as possible! If you buy it through steam you’re covered for a refund if it’s really not for you (so long as you don’t play over 2 hours). My only complaint is that I’ll never be able to experience this for the first time ever again.

What hooked me?

I hate turn based combat, I usually find them awfully boring, but after viewing the trailer with it’s beautiful music, an intriguing story, couple with reviews singing it praises to kingdom come, I couldn’t not have given this ago.

Right from the beginning I was blown away by how quickly I became immersed into this obscur world, getting introduced to our main characters, who talked, well … like normal people?? I had no idea how deprived I’d been. Playing other single player games, I’d always find the voice lines so, not human. When they’d talk somehow it all sounded so wrong, but here? Good god, it was incredible (just don't look at the lip sync for the side quests)! The accompanying animation with it to made for such a convincing act I thought I could be watching a live action film. I should also note that this game brought be to tears many times. From the prologue, couple of times during the per act, and bawling at the end. If you cried during UP’s (Pixar film) opening scene, you too will cry here.

The combat…

As you know this is a turn based game. You take turn to do your moves, the enemy takes theirs, and so on until one of the teams drops dead. Kinda like Pokémon. But it doesn’t stop there, over your play time you’ll get introduced to more mechanics while playing. You start with your Quick Time Events (QTE), dodges and parries. Your QTE will happen after you cast an attack, while the other two, dodge and parry, are used to avoid taking the enemies hits.
It took me a minute to wrap my head around each characters unique way of attacking and then learn which is most effective against certain enemies but by god was it fun! Learning enemy moves and to time it just right to parry, was cathartic, even better when I could pull off a counter attack!

The story…

I’m not going to say much, like I’ve mentioned previously, this game is best enjoyed with as little information about it as possible. What I can say is the story topics are heavy hitting and explored with great deal of depth & respect. If this peaks your interest, trust me and give it a go, through steam you are covered for refund (check their refund policy) if you come to find it really isn’t for you. An FYI, people have said there’s a point during act 2 when the story it starts to get a bit slower. I didn’t find this personally, I found it more that the story had more breath here before quickly picking up its pace again! That is to say if you do find this, just keep playing, it will blow your socks off.

The conclusion…

If you couldn’t tell, I had a wild time with this game! Truly something special, one-of-a-kind game. Thank you for everyone at Sandfall Interactive, and to anyone else apart of this project. It has been an honour to play it.

I've always seen people talk about how they LOVE Stardew Valley and seen people playing together, having a wonderful, relaxing time but never really believe that I'd enjoy.
I've always played games like Valorant and Rainbow6.
Never did I realised just how much I'd adore this game! It's goes without saying that this game is truly amazing, with the overwhelming positive reviews ,its calming OST, colourful design, simple UI and interactive NPCs (which feel more like real people that you care for). There's many things in this game for you to enjoy.

If you're think about buying, do yourself a favour and get it!

I saw the game on a deal (around £4) and thought to myself "Why not?". Little did I realise what lied ahead...

I'm not going to spoil anything but playing this game was tremendously fun, serene and outright beautiful!
When I finished the game, I was left in tears. Parts of the story resonated with me personally and I was deeply touched!

The writing, art and atmosphere have been made so very well it will make you laugh, it may make you cry and it will make you feel tranquil. This game is an absolute gem and I recommend this to anyone who likes Animal Crossing or Sim like games!

If you're in the slightest bit interested, buy the game, you honestly won't regret it.

I only have 82 hours on PC (at the time of writing this) but I've been playing on PS4 since year 1. Playing this game for that amount of time is as enjoyable as it is painful.

I'll give you a heads up! This game WILL bring out the worst in you at times and will test your mental resilience. As you play this game more and more you might find yourself saying these common phrases, such as;
How are they still alive? (When know you missed 90% of the bullets fired at the person)
I head-shot them! (Ubisoft just hates you)
They're hacking/cheating! (On the off chance they're not, you've been out played and still can't accept it)
They're one shot! (When they still have more then 25 health)
They're lit! (When you've only landed one bullet)
There so bad! (when you're losing).
This is a very normal thing that happens, don't worry! No medical examination needed but some intense therapy (or an exorcism) will help!

That being said, you'll find that Rainbow6Siege is at it best when you're at your own best (i.e. don't take it too seriously - the best advice I've been given while playing this game) Good luck!
