Steam support won't even address what I opened a ticket about and keep telling me they won't revert my ban. despite being explicitly told repeatedly that I'm not seeking an appeal. I've got receipts in case they delete this stuff later.

I had already reported their comment and waited a day for a reply telling me that misgendering was not considered targeted harassment before going ahead and calling him Sally. So it's nothing short of uneven enforcement and it looks an awful lot like agenda pushing to me. I think in general moderation things like this can happen from incompetence mixed with static. But this particular event was very straightforward and I documented the steps because mod abuse pisses me off. They're like school bus drivers lording their flashing stop sign and leaving it up longer than they need to while they stare down everyone waiting. They have the tiniest modicum of situational power that they wield ON BEHALF OF SOMEONE ELSE! and somehow, this nothingburger of situational leverage is too much power for them to wield responsibly.

my 2 cents. It's just because that specific group is quicker to report/quicker to really offend.

Yes and no. It really comes down to whether it's more hassle to suppress or to act. They wouldn't do anything unless it threatens the platform's reputation. Which is already ridiculously low.

damn, wonder if it's against steam's rules for community moderators to be queerphobic

I got banned for calling one of those dudes Sally after being told by the community moderator that them intentionally and aggressively misgendering you was fine. So I guess it's only fine if it's directed as queer people.
