The closest the AC franchise has gotten to the Witcher 3. With that comes the great controversy, being whether or not it fits the archetype of what an Assassin's Creed game is or should be. If you can let that go and accept an adventure in ancient Greece, you're in for one of the best open world games in the past decade.
