The good: the world is AMAZING. Pretty original and very interesting. The combat is EXTREMELY challenging and interesting. It's rough around the edges and there's a lot of spikes, sure, but everything is beatable through strategy, specially with well placed traps.

The bad: writing and dialogue are all forgettable. Characters aren't remarkable with a few exceptions. The Expedition DLC heavily improves on that, with good characters, good writing and more explanation about the DLC's world.

The ugly: it's a very basic game. Basic graphics (literally ugly), repetitive music. Also the final area sucks, I have done it once and stopped all my replays before entering it.

The conclusion: even with all the bad parts, this game is still extremely engaging and replayable due to the challenging combat. I keep going back to it to try new stuff, new builds, new feats. This is why I recommend it. Be sure to grab the full game with DLCs, Expedition is amazing!

The fact that this game still has a number of quest-breaking bugs that have been well documented brings it down a lot. I found three of those in my run, two in the base game and one in the DLC. That's three quests I couldn't complete the way I wanted (or at all) because important NPCs simply weren't there. That's not something that can be ignored.

They killed GO for an inferior version, then killed 128 ticks so everyone would be forced to play on the same bad setting.

Still needs a lot of QoL features and UI improvements, but the base is solid enough to waste hundreds of hours building perfect cities.

A step back from Dark Souls 3, but still a great game.

I cannot recommend this due to the ammount of bugs and performance issues. You have to mod the game to make it playable.

Excellent co-op horde shooter. Still better than Payday 3.

One of the best games of all time.

The spiritual successor to Resident Evil 4.

Maybe the best Total War game ever.
