This is a pretty fun turn-based combat game with a bizarre story and really great music. I'm not gonna say it's the most fun game I've ever played, but it's definitely pretty good, so therefore I hereby officially rank this game 8.5/10

My initial review of this game from years ago was negative, not because of the story, or gameplay, or anything like that, but specifically because of the game constantly crashing on me during various stages.

I'm playing the game again now in 2024, and it seems that most of these bugs have been resolved, and the game runs really well.

Thumbs up - would definitely recommend this game.

This is an excellent title. The art style is unique, the soundtrack is top-notch, and the game has a lot of replay value. The game is fairly difficult, but it's one of those things where once you play the same boss enough times you eventually figure out what needs to be done to defeat it. Also, on the subject of difficulty, I think that's one of the many redeeming qualities of the game. Because it's such a challenge, it's very rewarding when you defeat a boss and beat the game. 10/10 - I would recommend this game to anyone.

The story/acting is mediocre at best, and the fighting can be a bit repetitive. That said, the graphics are excellent & the puzzles are a lot of fun. All in all, it's not a bad game, but I'd get it when it's on sale.

I don't think they could make the online experience for this game any worse if they tried. The online lobbies are completely broken, the global chat doesn't work 90% of the time, and when you go to choose a lobby it's virtually impossible because it auto-scrolls back to the top before you have the opportunity to do anything. You can try the "quick match" option, but if the host is AFK then you're out of luck. This game could have potential if they didn't half-ass the online so badly. Also I think it's interesting how on the main menu there's not a button to exit the game (at least not that I could see); forcing you to alt+F4 to get back to your desktop.

This game is extremely difficult (especially if you play on hard) & incredibly fun. Easily one of the best first person shooter games of all time. My friend turned me on to the Half-Life series not too long ago, and I've been hooked since. The attention to detail throughout the series is incredible. I highly recommend this title.
