A very fun game. It's similar to a party game in vibe, but a grand strategy in comparison to the average party game. As a player you are given command of a squad and are able to build structures to defend your control points.

Each team is given about 4 minutes to attack the other team before a there is an intermission/vote, after the intermission/vote the roles are switched and the attacking team defends and the defending team attacks. This is enforced by fining people when they die as a defender. When you are defending you are fined $80 for dying at one of your controlled flags, and you are fined $3000 for dying outside of that territory, you are also fined $1000 dollars for each NPC squad member dies outside your territory. When you attack if you die there is no fine, and if you die near the enemy flag you actually gain money, same with your squad members. So you can actually attack during the Attack, Intermission, and Defence phase, you are simply monetarily discouraged from doing so. I believe this is good design as it allows people a higher degree of choice and strategy, for example you could try to build an outpost during the defence phase, if you die you will loose $3000, but if you survive and build the outpost it could give you a significant advantage in the next attack phase. Also you get paid $250 for each enemy you kill.

Along with these features, the game contains tanks, tanks with legs (mechs), manually controlled artillery (Manually as in your actually adjust the trajectory of the artillery manually, it can be done remotely, and it is more intuitive and fun then you would probably assume), trenches, fortifications, emplacements, and possibly best of all; a outhouse-outpost that allows members of your team to spawn wherever it is built.

There are a lot of interesting small details in the game, I'll list some more without giving to much detail;
You spawn NPCs manually from the map, they can be spawned anywhere you can be spawned
There is some type of artillery grouping system I do not yet understand at the time of typing this review
The teams are Germany vs Britain and France
All vehicles and emplacements are able to be manned by both players and NPCs
Chinese people
Trenches can be dug for free but require a $300 dollar shoves to dig
Barbed wire does not deal damage and instead acts as a wall that is higher than human jump height, it can also be cut with wire cutters
The GUI is a mess
Server hosts can lock the allies or the Axis team so people are unable to join them, the host can also kick people from their server
There is a server browser and quick-play button, there are no dedicated servers (They are all player hosted)
Anything can be constructed basically anywhere it can physically fit, some ♥♥♥♥♥ built an emplacement in my base and killed my brain-dead disposable soldiers with it.

Overall I recommend this game.

Please note: This is the second review of this game/demo, and over time I expect details of this review will become inaccurate. The developers will probably improve the GUI, the exact amounts of money gained or lost as a repercussion of certain actions might change, and there are many other updates that could be added to this game in the future, this game was released on Steam one day before I played it.

The classic version won't let me start a match, and the new version is too confusing and there are no custom matches, how am I supposed to play this game with my friends that never played before?

The new updates may be some of the worst additions to the game ever, it would be better if it was never updated again then destroyed like this.

I hope the game improves, I was excited about the new update at first, but now the game is literally barely playable.

One year ago if I reviewed this game I would certainly recommend it, in fact I did, to my friends, but in it's current state, if you are a new player and you try this game, prepare to be very confused and disappointed.

DumbBots: Hello World doesn't have the best block coding system, or the highest quality models, or good animations, or the ability to be racist. Actually that last one is not true.

However DunbBots is just the kind of game I am looking for, and I think it may even have some utility to people who are completely unfamiliar with how code works. Out of all the block coding exercises I have done for school or for fun this is by far one of the best, funnest, and advanced ones I have seen.

There are some issues, for example you can set an IF statement based on the distance that you are from an object, so you can say if the bot is either Long. Medium, Short, or close range to do a specific action. Problem is that it is not specified how far those distanced actually are. I also believe that they could make things a bit more clear. Does a pickup action only pick up the object or does it make the bot go to and then pick up an item? After a while of trying to fix my block code I started to think that it was the previous, the problem is that there is no action to tell make your bot move to a medkit or weapon. Perhaps it is the ladder, and it is supposed to make bots go to and pick up am item but the game is not working correctly, but the simpler answer is lack of sleep on my part.

Along with if statements which make up the bulk of the code side of the game, you can use else or else if statements, which if you know anything about code or are not a DumbBot yourself then you most likely understand what that is, if you are a DumbBot than hopefully the game can teach you because I am not going to.

Some players *cough cough* (Aztec), will complain about the game because the coding logic is basic revolving around if statements so you don't need to actually be a coder to play the game. Some people *cough cough* (Aztec), will also complain that the game is too hard because you have to do block coding.

So in summary: DumbBots: Hello World is a demo/free tutorial to DumbBots that will teach you basics of the game and may even teach you something about coding. DumBots: Hello World is also scuffed and people who are literally DumbBots in real life *cough cough* (Aztec), complain about it. The game has about 1 hour of game play if you know what you are doing and probably about an extra thirty minutes to an hour if you don't.

While making this review, and playing this game, I have been quite tired. If I have made any errors in the assessment of this game that is probably why, although I doubt I have made as many errors as Aztec. I will be buying the full DumbBots game on sale now for about fifty cents. If you are interested in other games of a similar premise I would recommend Gladiabots, free on mobile (I think) and about twenty dollars on steam, or Screeps for anyone who can actually code. I have not played Screeps but it looks decent.

Why did the developers feel the need to make Minecraft characters Inappropriate?

Edit: The community also seem to be a bunch of toxic degenerates.

Game is much more creepy than advertised. It is shown as a cool engineering game with epic music and robotics. It is actually mostly just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ knock-off of People Playground, and it does not live up to it. Some of the creatures in the game are also demented. Horrible demon looking things, and I am talking about the ones that come with the game, not mods. I honestly think this game is cursed. If the game looks interesting to you I would just buy People Playground.
