Horrific pseudo RPG that provide illusion of open world, illusion of character creation and illusion of roleplay.

Only source of XP and money are mandatory annoying quests.

Every single "door" will have quest attached.

Can't enter town, can't enter house, can't cross river, can't do that, can't have that, absolutely everything is gated behind some nonsense and this become annoying really really fast.

Almost every quest rely on going somewhere and pass some check and then return back.

Combat is just bad, you can miss 10 times in row with 80% chance and die miserably, ever on easy every single combat encounter will result in injury, wolves and other critters will do damage ever if you have full plate armor.

Lots of creatures have absurd ranged always trigger attack, like slimes or frogs that will always attack screen away and attack always connects, no saving throws, no resistances, nothing, attack frog take atleast one attack in return no matter what.

Forced encounters kick you from stealth, break your formation and force your main character to stand in front of everyone, ignoring it's non combat role.

Crafting is horrific, you must run around with "tools" that break after crafting 5 arrows and rarely sold, visit first smith, no whetstone in stock, can't craft anything, nobody sell it, just FU moment.
Leveled up crafting to make weapons for party? good, visit blacksmith and it have total of 2 ingots in stock, entire freaking city have total of 2 ingots to sell.

Weapons have "attachment" system, that allows to improve weapons, issue is that every single attachment decay over time.
Attach "monocle" to bow, shot 50 times, monocle shatters to dust, no warning, no indication, nothing, it just gone.

Greetings, no quests are mandatory in Swordhaven, including the main one. We do not believe this to be an interesting or rewarding route, but you can pretty much beat the game without interacting with quest NPCs. Sometimes the plot needs to place the character into an unfavourable situation, but we have around 3 plot related forced encounters through the whole 60+ hour game.
Some good news are, that the feedback you provide later has been heard and listened to! Please accept the new update, as there we have turned off mod durability for Normal and Easy difficulties, tool life span has been increased (and further bolstered with growing the crafting skill you will need to use tools anyway), the quantity of items for sale by merchants was also increased; we really hope you will give Swordhaven another whirl with these player-inspired additions!

I quite not understand why you call the game a ''pseudo RPG'', if anything Swordhaven IS a rpg.
I would say that it's weak on some of its mechanics but, overall, it has a pretty strong character creation, top notch writing, and pretty cool atmoshere.

> Can't enter town
I suspect you're referring to Swordhaven?
The whole coast is under pressure because of a rumored incoming attack from northmen, aided by barbarians, everybody is on edge.
So yeah, things happen. But it's up to you adventurer, to find your way through these challenging times.
> Can't enter house
bruh.

> Combat is not just bad because you miss.
If any reason it's bad, it's nothing like a miss doode.
> Some attacks always connect, such as the high-kick martial art, or the snipe bow attack.

> My chest was just near the smithy so I never ran into your problem.
I guess you went for the shared chest? lol

> The mod decay has been removed btw

It reads like the game really got under your skin.
