You need self control to play this game. It is a gacha and it has subtle systems (mostly the pvp) that are trying to trick you into spending money. The thing is, the main reward from those systems are the premium currency (carats), so you're spending money to get more carats than you will win from the competitions that reward carats. It doesn't make sense.

Once you know this, you can instead focus on enjoying the exceptional art style, animation, voice acting, and surprisingly compelling writing of this beautiful little game. One of these girls is guaranteed to steal your heart, and then you'll spend countless hours cheering her on and training her to be the best version of herself you can make her.

Idk I think it's fun

Don't let the people with thousands of hours scare you off. This is a charming game that is great fun to get lost in as a new player. There's no rush to endgame (you aren't actually supposed to hit max level), there's no dramatic overarching story dragging you from place to place and constantly telling you what to do. Just a cute medieval fantasy world, filled with attention to detail, dry British humor, and a surprising amount of depth and intrigue once you learn how to look for it, all free for you to explore at your own pace. Take your time, experiment, and don't listen to all the tryhards if the things they say don't sound fun. This game was made to be low-intensity casual fun, and as long as you have the patience for it, it's fantastic.

This game is not for everyone. It has a lot of repetition and grinding, the ingame tutorials are woefully insufficient making the wiki basically required reading, and in general its going to require a lot of patience on your part. However, if you can deal with all that, this game is an experience like no other. it has fantastic third-person shooting and melee combat, unique and addicting movement that begs to be mastered, an absolutely absurd amount of content, and build-crafting that will keep you coming back for hundreds if not thousands of hours more. New updates come out at a brisk pace, frequently featuring changes directly requested by the community, constantly reworking old systems and content to make them more relevant, and advancing a story as ambitious as it is subtle and nuanced.

Again, this game is not perfect. There will be times where you get frustrated, and you will often feel overwhelmed and lost. But the things this game does well, it does better than any other game I know of. The fact that it's also free and has one of the best F2P models is unbelievable. There's no reason you shouldn't try it.

Level your mods, keep the wiki handy, take your time, and remember to have fun.
