What's with all the bad reviews? I'm sure it's because it's a little buggy and difficult to play, but I never had any serious problems with bugs and I think the difficulty makes it that much more scary. And that's another thing about this game, it is absolutely terrifying and great at being it, and the added realism in the gameplay makes it all the more genuinely intense. All that, and you get a genuinely well made story that's faithful to the Cthulhu mythos to a tee. What more could you want?

So if you wanted a version of Amnesia where you can actually fight back, and I'm sure there's other comparisons to great games that I could make, buy it, it's cheap, a true underappreciated classic, and it'll keep you hooked for hours on end.

I got this game for just a couple bucks on sale, and I've gotta say, I often get buyers remorse from getting things on sale, but this isn't one of them. I'm not really sure why it's getting mixed recent reviews, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, I've already played several hours in a couple days. Some people might see this as a bootleg of Ready or Not, but I think it's overall a great game in it's own right, and an example of how to make something similar but also different. I'm not gonna say it's a perfect game by any means, but I'll review some things I think it does better than Ready or Not and some things the latter does better.

1. I'm not saying this with any degree of certainty, but I think it was by a smaller studio, and I'm typically gonna be more kind in my reviews of them because I know firsthand that game development is hard, and when a smaller team still gives a product that's fun to play and looks nice, I find that to be an achievement. On that note, the Graphics look pretty good even if they're not as good as RON (more on that later).
2. You can sprint in this game, something I missed in RON, because it might be in line with the slower pace, but it also makes going back for something you missed a lot more monotonous, but in this one, you can go much quicker even with an adrenaline bar.
3. I feel like it simplifies some stuff from RON to pretty good effect, for one, now you don't have to go through a kind of needlessly long process to arrest an enemy or civilian, and none of them can really fail, you just walk up to them and press F, that's it. If you pick up their weapon first, then you'll have to press it again to actually arrest them, but you don't have to walk up to them, tell them to turn around, wait for them to do so, then tie them up anymore. I also think the gameplay is overall a bit less complicated, it doesn't really have twenty different systems with twenty different keys this time (yes, I'm exaggerating, but the point is that it's easier to learn than RON).
4. I think it's more fair with it's grading system, as you don't typically get penalized for a lot of things, and if an enemy is pretending to surrender, but then tries to shoot you and you shoot first, that's just considered self-defense and nothing else.
5. I think the idea to base it in Bangladesh is a very interesting one, an entirely different continent in this case. It gives you a lot of new locales that you won't typically see in the US, and the thought of this kind of stuff also happening there is terrifying. On that note, it also keeps the dark tone of RON, but I think it might be darker in a way, like a part where you have to escort a woman and her baby out, I hate to think what could happen to that child if something happens to her. That's just one example of the creative level design, also, because there's one level where there's only one enemy, but this makes it really intense when you're looking for him in a big apartment building and he has his horrific lair in the basement.
6. There's now a competitive mode, so if you're sick of working with other players, you can now work in teams against others. I've heard some compare this to Rainbow Six Siege, and I think that's a pretty apt comparison.
7. When you die, it's not an automatic game over since you'll just control a different character in your squad (if you're choosing to play solo), and that's frankly a godsend.
8. It's only about half the size of RON, which is real nice if you're wanting to conserve space. I think it also runs much smoother for the most part, RON could be pretty laggy for me at times, but I haven't experienced that problem here.

Things that aren't as good:
1. As I mentioned before, the graphics aren't as good. They're not bad by any means, but still.
2. There's no real hub world for you to use now. There's still a training ground you can go to if you want to do a shooting range or even some practice courses, but there's not a police station you can go to any more.
3. There's not as many non-lethal weapons for you to use, which makes taking prisoners harder, especially when they refuse to surrender. Also, I don't think you can customize the loadouts of your AI squadmates, so you might be stuck with a weapon you don't want.
4. Speaking of your AI squadmates, they're arguably not as useful. They do their due diligence when encountering enemies, and they still pick up weapons for you (which you do get graded on a little), but they typically won't arrest enemies for you, and they can revive you from a near-death state, but that can take a while. The system is also a bit less complex, they don't really have any specific abilities like in RON and you don't look after their mental state, which some may say removes an annoying system, but others might say it sacrifices the themes of RON, that police work is not easy and can be very physically and emotionally taxing.
5. It does kind of look like it steals RON's command system, they look practically identical, even if that's the one thing you can say that about. In this case, though, I still haven't figured out how the controls work for it, though I'm hoping that's a simple workaround. Still though, them looking almost identical can feel a little blatant.

Overall, Ready or Not might be the better game in some ways, but I don't think this game is a ripoff, and it's still a good game on it's own. It's fun and addictive while still having the core elements of Ready or Not, kind of being a little more action based, but still intense, realistic, and emotional. I definitely recommend it.

Early Access Review
This has got to be one of the most fun mmorpgs I've ever played. Phantasy Star Online 2 was fun, but took up a whole lot of space and could get old after a while. This game, on the other hand, is much smaller, yet still has incredible graphics for am mmo, really fun gameplay, and an extremely vast open world for you to explore freely and tons of stuff to do. It's also easier to learn how to play, with plenty of helpful tutorials that tell you how to do stuff. I've already made a guild and advanced to level 30, and participated in two world events. Can't wait to see what else there is, definitely recommend.

I personally really liked this game.
It was like an interactive fiction, like Heavy Rain (my most favorite game of all time) and capitalizes on everything needed to make a compelling game like that. It's got a great story with in-depth characters, tough decisions, good graphics, and many other factors. The voice acting might not be perfect, but it's certainly not bad (this was before Doug Cockle got his best performer nomination for The Witcher 3), and the dialogue is pretty good. I agree, the shooting sections were not really necessary, but they don't impede on the great story.
I just started episode 2, it literally fixes any possible problems with the first one (such as less or no lag, better voice acting, etc).

Playing this game was a joy.
The story was in depth and emotional sometimes.
The graphics were really good for a first time developer.
The gameplay was intense and thoughtful at the same time.
The music was really good.
The developers clearly loved the project they were creating, there's just so much love put into it.

Simply put, it's one of those games you feel the need to keep playing to the end and then play again, and everything about it makes it great.

I only played this game for a little bit, I haven't even finished it yet, but I loved playing it. This game is pretty much the To The Moon of visual novels. So let's start off with what makes it great.
The story is deep and well done.
The animation is fluent and pretty livelike.
The characters are diverse and interesting.
It has a perfect blend of humor and emotionality.
The soundtrack is great.
The dialogue is great.
There's a necessary amount of sometimes tough choices.

This VN is basically well done in every way. I enjoyed every second of playing it, and I'm not even that into visual novels or romance stories.
