Haven't gotten far, but hot diggity dang is it nice looking. 10/10 would suggest getting this. Unlike the Vessel of Hatred "filler expansion" this one is VERY much more fleshed out with a new region, new enemies and just new content as a whole. Putting this here now early only cause I see the negative reviews are in regards to server issues... A little silly if you ask me.

Good game but not for me. My negative review is subjective, but I think the game has a place.

The idea is cool and the whole voxel system is insane. I can't wait to see if they make another one but with the inclusion of NPCs? AI? The problem I have with the game is it calls itself a "heist" game while truly being a game designed around speedrunning.

Take a game like Payday for example, you can rob places in that game (heist) without ever getting caught. That is NOT possible in this game and the the true goal is, is to setup a speedrun route to collect all the "loot" items that have alarms attatched to them. Once you start the "heist" you have 60 seconds to collect all of the mission critical stuff and optional stuff and extract/get away.

This game isn't a hand holding simulator. If you want a raw, Tarkov like exp in a PvE game with a story that is actually engaging. This is what you're looking for. Having been following this game for years now, seeing how the game has progressed is insane. I can't wait to see where this guy goes with this game. I can't imagine how much better it'll get!

Keep up the good work!

After just 4 hours of playing the game I bought the supporters pack just so I could play the Spearhead update sooner than later. I can't get enough of this game. I have had it less than 24 hours and I'm over 12 hours in it. This game is like if the people who made Tarkov actually cared about the game. It doesn't shove 12 of you in a map the size of a childs bedroom. It doesn't force you to run to the same OBJ's as "enemy" PMC's forcing you to PvP whether you like it or not. Call it a skill issue or whatever, but yea sometimes there are people better than you by a lot and you just keep running into them. Sometimes it's fun to just PLAY a game and not have it feel like a damn job. That's this game.

Cool things about this game are the maps so big you don't HAVE to fight against other players if you really don't want to. You can if you want to as well. There are these combat outposts all over the map and you can take those over and attack and defend them. The reason they're important is you can respawn at them if you die, whichever one is closest meaning you can get your stuff back OR hunt down the people that took your stuff with trackers in your equipment. You can also use the combat outposts as safe spots to log out, AND you can access the vendors and your inventory from them. So you don't have to go back to the main base.

With all that said the big draw here is NO load screens and NO waiting for lobby.... You enjoy waiting 15 min in a queue to get into a server to die in 2 min and wait another 15? No? That's Tarkov. You want to just keep playing the game in one persistant world with no load screens and constant things to do? That's Gray Zone.

May as well throw my review in here for the time being. Till something is "bad", this will be a positive review.

The game is crystal clear, very smooth frame rates, beautiful world. The world is engaging as well. You want to talk to the people. The amount of people is unreal compared to games like this. If you were a fan of games like Elden Ring and Skyrim, you'll like this one. The controls aren't as bad as some of the early reviewers stated. If you can handle hitting two buttons at once for certain things, you'll be just fine. As for inventory space..... Did you have unlimited in Skyrim? No. Did you have unlimited in any game like this other than say Elden Ring? No. It's a non-issue if you simply don't loot goblin literally everything on the ground. Then on top of that, it appears that vendors keep the items you sell to them forever. So you never really lose access to them. You just have to go buy it. Not a big deal.

The ONLY issue I have ran into, which really isn't that big a deal, is if you try and manip the menu too fast it'll get stuck on one option and you have to back out and try again and go a little slower. Other than that, it's been a great ~4 hours so far.

The game is "fine". But the things that are bothering me can't be ignored. The combat feels like it was trying to be something mixed between a souls game and an arcade game where you need to hit an enemy 500 times to kill. Even with upgraded weapons and gear, the balance is very off. Unless you like mindlessly beating up a naked archer with a trident for a couple min.

Another thing that just seemed off is the start of this story. You play as a guy who is the son of a Spartan leader named Nik. You start off on an island that is neutral to the fight between Spartans and Athenians. When you make it thru what could be called the tutorial you end up breaking through an Athenian blockade and get to the shores of the Spartan encampment. The Spartans in the camp are friendly enough, they don't attack you on site, but as soon as you leave that main camp, all smaller camps of Spartans WILL attack you on site. So you need to kill them all. As well as the Athenians. So the confusing part is why are either side friendly to me in their main "base" but as soon as I get into the open they become aggro and you just kill all of them. ALSO doing this ends up leading to you getting bounties on you which then has a bunch of attack dummies with a billion health to just beat up on for a couple min.

I'm determined to play through the game at some point but my God is it not a great exp.

If you're a fan of the RE franchise would be silly not to play this one. Great game, has a lot of throwbacks to past titles and did amazing at mixing the feel of something like RE7 with RE4. Great job. Can't wait to see what the DLC/Expansions are!

Managed to make it 14 min in and requested a refund. The game LOOKS great, the style is perfectly fine. The games perf. is kinda sus though. The implementation of FG is awful and they don't give you the choice of 2x, 3x, or 4x. I'm assuming it's on 4x by default with the amount of ghosting you see.

The worst part of the 14 min I played was the writing though. Whoever wrote the dialogue for the game is one of those "hello fellow kids" kinda person. They want the characters to be "quirky". The problem is not everyone is quirky and not every one wants to play as a quirky character. That's why the characters should be NEUTRAL. Instead you get what a lot of people would call "woke".

There's a reason it's 4$ at the time of purchase/review.

I said I would play the game when they introduced a 5v5 or more mode since watching people play the 3v3 seemed a little "dead".

I can say with certainty that 5v5 mode is the way forward and I can't wait to see what the devs do with this game. The gun play is very arcade-y in the best way it could. None of the guns feel like they aren't viable. They all feel like they have a playstyle associated with them.

My only "complaint" atm would be a better tutorial. The current one doesn't really explain exactly HOW the armor system works and what not. But it's intuitive enough to figure out after a couple rounds.

Game is bizzarely well made for what it is. If you want to play a ship sim kinda game this fits the bill. It's not like Sea of Theives but more like Assassins Creed Black Flag. Having a good time so far. Would have be REAL cool to be able to do coop with a friend who could be on the deck of the ship running around doing stuff but the way it is, is still pretty cool.
