I recommend this game, purely for Leon's idle animation (trust)

The Stalking Stairs is a fantastic PSX-style horror experience with, in my opinion, great atmosphere and pacing (and humour!) This is my first game from Jaden Williams, and I'm going to have to check out more of their work.

The jumpscares were perfectly timed, like you know it's coming, but you know you're going to jump still... (read: I’m a scaredy cat). The choice-based gameplay was an awesome surprise, and replaying for another ending stayed enjoyable. Achievements felt fair and satisfying, and the voice acting was excellent, especially the news reporter. The VA's were emotive, well-balanced, and humorously delivered.

Great length, great value, and a great horror game overall. Highly recommended.

Listen, it's not that I don't entirely recommend the game... it's an ok game, with a lot of charm and potential with a unique selling point for a game. It's just that in its current state, it's really missing something.

Going in when I realised that it had voice options for the spells, I was initially worried about my accent not being picked up properly when you have to say the spells, but it was absolutely not an issue. The voice recognition works perfectly, which is honestly impressive and a huge plus for a game built around that mechanic. It’s a great initiative overall, and you can really feel how much potential the concept YapYap has for the beginning of its journey!

I love the PS1/2 style graphics and goofy character models add a lot of personality, their mouths move when the players talk and they're just goofy little guys and that feels really lighthearted and loveable. It's not trying to be serious.

Unfortunately, the gameplay doesn’t feel as polished. It’s not very obvious at first what you’re actually supposed to be doing, and the "difficulty" feels off. Night one is almost too easy, while night three suddenly becomes overwhelming especially if you’re only playing with two people as we were. The enemy pressure feels more overbearing than challenging, and there's only so many laughs you can get out of pee and turning someone into a fish...

We also ran into a frustrating bug where we lost our wands (the wands we had bought with gold) right before a trial. Being stuck with very limited options because of a bug was annoying and really took us out of the experience.

Overall, the game feels unfinished in its current state. There isn’t a lot to do in the grand scheme of things, and while I appreciate that it’s new, it ends up feeling quite “friendslop.” With more refinement, bigger maps, and maybe the option of a tutorial I can see this becoming a genuinely brilliant game.

We had fun for the first 45 minutes to an hour, but after that it started to feel boring and tedious, like we’d already discovered what the game had to offer. YapYap has potential... but it certainly needs something more.

As a first-time player of V Rising, I found the tutorial super easy to navigate and engaging. It did a fantastic job of teaching me everything I needed to know, giving clear guidance and tips that set me up for actual gameplay which is something that I feel a lot of games miss the mark with. The gameplay itself is fun, my first playthrough I've been hooked for 9 hours straight and it's been a long time since a game captivated me like that. It felt interesting without being overwhelming for a beginner.

One of the highlights has definitely been playing multiplayer with friends of varying skill levels. The game feels like it accommodates different abilities well. The build mechanics are straightforward and incredibly fun to use. Usually I find "resource" farming boring but this has been super easy to navigate without being "too easy" and "too grindy" to lose my interest.

V Rising is an excellent choice for new players looking for a well-designed and engaging multiplayer experience with building, battles and good gaming experience. Highly recommended!

This game is my Game of the Year.

If you're a fan of narrative-driven game with spooky stories, folklore and a love a good puzzles, look no further – Bramble: The Mountain King is the perfect game for you. I found out about Bramble through a TikTok showcase before its release and I immediately added it to my wishlist.

The brilliance of the music and sound design cannot be overstated – I loved it! It really establishes the game's atmosphere. The artwork and visuals are not just aesthetically pleasing; they expertly set the stage for the immersive experience. The use of light and shadows really work well, you're cheerful one minute with bright colours and light... and then... well... you get the point.

I've played through it once and watched others on Twitch and YT play through it too because I can't quite get enough of seeing people react to the gameplay. I've been genuinely recommending it to everyone I know. This game satisfies the itch I've had for a unique horror/spooky experience, and the story having folklore adds a wonderful layer.

I'll be looking out for more from Dimfrost, for sure!

Look, I know this game gets a bad rep... but I literally love it. Can't stop playing it. Can't get enough of it and you know if your game went bad, you can just go next. You can learn so much by playing both sides.
