Just want to point out, I know it doesn't say Early Access review, I bought Early Access outside of Steam aka on my (now abandoned because Nexon is a ♥♥♥♥♥ company that had to sell off Combat Arms which was the only other Nexon game I played) Nexon account.

New update: They've decided to drop the curtains and pull the life support. They have decide to shut the game down. You ♥♥♥♥♥ just pulled a Rage of Bahamut. You guys are BIGGER ♥♥♥♥♥ than DeNA games who decided to close down Rage of Bahamut. Good thing I only play this and Combat Arms from Nexon, wait let me rephrase that, I USE TO play those. Nexon is now on my list of boycotted game companies and well....hope you guys at Nexon are enjoying Lawbreakers, I heard that yesterday (Oct 13th, 2017) Lawbreakers had a player count of TEN.

Putting this at the top because I just learnt about this from another reviewer and realized how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dumb this is. You can't use an LMG or Assault Rifle when playing as Motoko/Inflitrator class because class restriction. BUT you can kill someone and pick up whatever gun they were using. So I'm restricted to ONLY use SMGs and Shotguns...but mid-game I can just run up to a dead guy, and pick up his gun and completely ignore the class restriction. WELL what the flippity ♥♥♥♥ was the point of restricting it anyways.....when a non-class based FPS game decides to try being a class based FPS, this is what happens.

To quickly sum up the 2.0 update. Imagine buying a Ferrari or Lamborghini, preferrably a flagship model. You bought the flagship car because it rocks a high performance and amazing sounding V12 correct? Now imagine if one day, Ferrari and Lamborghini decided "Lets do what Ford did with the 2017 Ford GT" and instead of a V6 TT, they stuffed a Turbo Inline 4 that made 500hp into the flagship chassis AND they turned the car into a FWD. Not only did they just ruin their flagship car by essentially turning it into a Honda, but imagine if they recalled your beautifully spec'd out LaFerrari and implemented these changes. You'd probably boycott the ♥♥♥♥ out of them and hope they burn to the ground right? Imagine if they recalled all 2005 Ford GTs from all the owners, and swapped out the V8 for the current V6 TT AND removed the manual gearbox. Nothing else but the very core, the foundation, the heart has changed. The one thing that made it a 2005 Ford GT...the S/C V8 with a Ricardo 6 speed, now replaced with the modern counterpart's V6TT with DCT. The difference between the Ford GT series and the Ferraris/Lambos used in my example is, the Ford GT had one objective in mind, it is nickname the "Ferrari Killer" and its original intentions was to slay Ferrari in the LeMan 24hrs, back when the GT40 came out, it did exactly that. 50 years later the new 2017 Ford GT came out, with new technology it achieved its goal, to win LeMan 24 again. The Ford GT's soul purpose is to dominate LeMan 24 and to slay Ferraris. It is acceptable for Ford to make major changes like going from a V8 to a V6TT while still maintaining a similar exterior styling because their ultimate goal was to slay Ferraris which they have done successfully. But for Ferrari to change powerplant and drivetrains to anything outside the V engines and RWD, would be ruining its heritage and quite frankly unacceptable. The fact that new Ferraris are using FI engines (V8TT in the 2016/2017 488) is already a little bit odd. But at least the flagship LaFerrari is still maintaining true Ferrari heritage with its V12 engine and staggering performance.

REGARDING "THE FUTURE IS NOW; RENEWAL" UPDATE
As of now, I don't recommend the game because the Renewal Update just came out which restricts your favourite character and weapons to specific classes. You don't have the freedom of selecting a character and whatever weapon anymore. You're now limited to 3 classes with specific characters and weapons for each class. Unfortunately I do not agree with this decision as many of the other negative reviews have stated. This isn't Battlefield, this isn't TF2, its none of those class based games, it shouldn't have classes. Until they remove these class restrictions, I don't recommend this. If they don't revert these changes, this game is going six feet under GUARANTEED. I'll be sure to attend the funeral.

You're probably asking "But why is this such a big deal?" Well here is why. The core of this game, the foundation this game was built upon, was the tried and true F2P FPS "pick a character model, play, buy more guns, buy more character models, play". Look at games like CrossFire or Combat Arms, you pick a starting character MODEL, and as you progress you buy guns you like and play as you wish. This was the core of GitS except the characters also have their own abilites. I think its almost been a year of development, and they decide "hey, lets change the very core of our game to something else." and now its a class based shooter where the characters have abilities that don't make much sense for the class they're in. Infiltrator class, sounds stealthy right? Motoko Kusanagi AKA The Major fits in because her ability is Thermoptic Camo. But Maven, her Thermoptic Barrier....uhhhh..sure it conceals you but is it really that infiltrator like? They all SORTA have something in common for the class they belong to, but at the same time, its not making much sense plus WHY do they feel the need for class restrictions AND weapon restrictions? Seriously think about it, why?

Imagine buying a Lamborghini, a V12 flagship model. Pretty sweet right? Now imagine one day Lamborghini decided "lets make all our cars I4 Turbo'd engines that are FWD" AND they recalled all their flagship cars and made these changes. Great Idea? Of course not.

Some of us like myself have supported this since Early Access. I got Early Access which gave me A Limited Edition Motoko Kusanagi skin, and 'Tachikomatic Days' skins for my weapons. I also bought the $99 package for sale which also gave me the Motoko Kusanagi Signature skin and a bunch of weapons. There is a reason why I bought these packages. Aside from the benefits, The Major was my personal favourite character. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought the packages. You buy the stuff you like and combo it with other stuff you like because it suits you. Now they've stripped that away.

Once again, if you buy a Lamborghini or a Ferrari because you like the sound, performance, and uniqueness of a V12, would you be happy if Lamborghini or Ferrari suddenly recalled your car and swapped in a FWD drivetrain and a Turbo I4 engine and sent it back saying "we did this because the vocal minority of environmentalists don't like our not-so-efficient engines"? I keep driving this point in because thats essentially what they are doing and in my eyes, its a recipe for failure.

I've already finished everything minus all the manga (and the 2017 movie). Are you watching SAC or Arise?
Andreas 8 Aug, 2017 @ 9:11pm
Yeah i guess so. I'm at season 1 of GITS anime series.

Kuro isn't. I was still active when they added him in, he was an unofficial character like Maven, Reiko, and Sitara.

Nah, she is not in the lore. Reiko and Sitara aren't as well. I dunno about Kuro, though.

idk I just thought Infiltrator = Stealthy/Infiltrating so fast or silent/stealthy characters like Paz and the Major which is why I didn't think Maven's 'ability' really fit the bill. Hell I don't even know if she's an official character in GitS lore (just did a quick search while typing this, she's not).

I don't agree on the part with Maven, since I prefer her playing less defensively, but I agree on all other points.
