-rep doesn't understand that while not academically smart, Goku is still a very intelligent having worked in construction, learned how to operate heavy machinery including but not limited to cars and tractors, and is now a successful farmer which all requires significant intelligence to pull off. Meaning Gohan's intelligence and ability to learn also likely came from his father.
