No FOV slider in 2024 is ridiculous.

This is not a drill! Bloober actually did it. This is a near perfect remake that is spectacularly faithful to the original. If you played the original game, you'll be rewarded for knowing the original well. The devs clearly loved the OG SH2 and it shows. My god what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ride. GG Bloober.

Best part? Accurate reference to Resident Evil 1 with Moonlight Sonata on the piano with actually accurate finger placement. Actually played the right notes! Definitely a musician on the dev team somewhere...

So I just finished the game in a tiny bit over 2 hours. Luckily I got the game on a super deep sale (90% off) but it was a bargain at that price I'd say. Not quite worth full price in my opinion, but I'd pay around £10 for it.

So the game is actually pretty decent. It doesn't try to be anything more than what it is, which is respectable. The graphics are surprisingly nice for an indie title, although the frame rate is lock to 62 by default without ini changes and the FOV might be a little tight for some. A simple tale is told, touting family troubles with the paranormal, although there are some missing details I may have just missed that leave a couple of holes.

It's fairly jumpscare heavy but the ambience is comforting as someone who grew up on the sound track to PS1 horror games. My only real complaints lie with the monocle system initially being pretty confusing and the final section of the game in the attic (No spoilers here!) is quite tedious.

Worth a play on sale. Even if it is short, it's still a good enough few hours that doesn't overstay it's welcome.

I'd call this a "mostly recommend". It's still Resident Evil, but it really isn't a true remake of RE3 Classic. It plays exactly like the RE2 remake, but does feel notably less responsive in reloads and picking items up.

It's a short game, for sure. Between 3-6 hours depending on your pace, but there are 5 difficultly levels and the last two change the enemy and item placement dramatically and freshen things right up, but they're also hard as balls.

Nemesis is more of a set piece than a dynamic threat, but still pretty cool.

If you liked RE2 remake, you'll like this one, although if you're hoping for a true RE3 classic re-imagining, you probably won't be getting what you're after.
