I'm having a lot of fun, but I wish we had more time during the game day - interacting with the animals takes up a lot of time, and there isn't much time left for fishing and going on crusades, after which you're back at the camp and have to start the process all over again as the next day has begun. That part feels slightly repetitive, but the rest of the game is very addictive.

You're seriously wasting your hard-earned money if you spend even a shekel on this...

Lost my guardians even though I transferred them ages ago. Also mysteriously failed to migrate my Forsaken DLC, which I paid £60 for. Threw money at this game yet again with Shadowkeep, before I realised what an epic fail the Steam migration was going to be. Nice job Bungie. Will be refunding unless I get good news from support in the next couple of days.

Early Access Review
TL;DR at the bottom.

This game is one I was sceptical about buying at first, simply because people had noted the lack of content and the lack of expansion once the core mehanics had been thoroughly explored - but while this is true, I don't believe that these are reasons to write the game off. I think it's important to remember that this game is in early access: if you want a full, complete experience, then don't buy this game. But if you want a very saturated, enjoyable experience that you *will* sometimes be burnt out on because of the essence of the game's mechanics - but equally one that will be expanded upon before and after release - then I whole heartedly recommend this game. I bought this game in its current state, continue to play it, and will commend it for one reason: I think the devs deserve the support and credit, because this does truly feel like an already saturated and very fun game.

That said, you do need to have a particular fondness for the core mechanics: ultimately a farming management sim, with adventure quests part of day-to-day activity, but also quite a lot of collecting 'plorts' (essentially poop from feeding the slime, which are fed into the ever-changing market for newbucks), ensuring there is enough food for your slimes, and harvesting the fruit/veg; ontop of this, there are multiple areas to unlock which expand your ranch, to accommodate more and different types of slime. I personally enjoy this mehanic a lot; I don't mind the routine tasks of maintaining the ranch, simply because it contributes to the wider picture and makes this sim everything it is. The slimes are adorable, you already know this, but you need to keep them alive and happy (as well as ensure they're contributing to your plort income, of course) - and this in itself is a reason to enjoy the day-to-day maintenance of the ranch: I love feeding them, because I love them. Because they're so darn cute - and honestly... tabby cat slimes... who doesn't think that's adorable? I've seen a few reviews mention that the novelty quickly slows down because of the apparent lack of depth, however, I do feel like I've so much yet to discover (at 7 or so hours in, I feel like I've only touched the surface), and I think this vouches for the integrity and depth this game already has. While yes, it can feel like there is a gap that needs to be filled, it does a lot to distract you from that; and I'm sure that the devs will provide us with something to fill that gap continuously in the future.

Another notable thing is that there is no real, obvious objective. The objective is a continuous, day-to-day routine of maintaining the farm. There is no one objective, but multiple that work together to form a sense of success. You strategically combine the right kinds of slimes, and you feed them their favorite food, then you get rewarded for this with even more of the valuable kinds of plorts - so, more newbucks. This could probably feel empty for a person who wants to be told what to do, wants quest objectives, wants an endpoint; but people who like the simple task of maintaining and expanding a ranch, and exploring for new slimes and beautiful scenery, will enjoy this. And who knows, maybe the devs will add more of a quest line in the future; that's even more of a reason to not give up on this game, and check back periodically.

TL;DR, this game stays true to the core mechanics of a farming simulator, it will feel a bit of a grind and you may get burnt out on it, along with there not being a great deal of content - however, this game is in early access so it will likely be expended upon; so, support the devs and buy the game if you don't mind not buying the complete product, although it already feels very polished without it being complete. Besides, the content that already is there does feel enough to justfiy buying and supporting the game.

I'm currently recovering from a Skyrim addiction, you could call it rehab. This game will destroy any kind of social life that you have. 10/10 would kill chickens again.
