Very impressed with this game, it managed to capture the best parts of the HL experience while trimming away some of the weaker aspects. Despite the aged tech the level design and the artstyle manage to provide some very nice visuals. Would recommend.

It's telling that the most innovative RTS game since Supreme Commander ends up in a bargain bin while the esports bait Relic and Blizzard put out makes bank.

It's good, buy it before Eugen goes bankrupt outright.

Surprisingly good game, up there with AssCreed 2 in terms of quality and reviving the series. The game shamelessly rips off successful game design ideas from other games, and benefits from it immensely.

AssCreed doesn't feel like a cakewalk any more, difficulty settings and a change of combat system means you can no longer take down an entire crowd of enemies by simply spamming counter-attacks, multiple soldiers WILL take you down if you aren't careful. Stealth is therefore a necessary survival mechanic rather than an optional self-restriction.

Writing seems solid so far, Bayek is neither a brooding edgelord like Shay "I make my own luck" Cormac or a one-dimensional wiseguy like Ezio or that the MC from Unity who was only trying to get laid.

Visuals are nice, colours are really vibrant and the different environments do feel different.

Side activities don't feel contrived and repetitive (at least so far). Sidequests make sense from a writing perspective, collectibles are more involved than simply "find 100 feathers hidden around the city"

There's a singleplayer mission where you defend the Hague against Serbian terrorists in Toyota pickup trucks with rocket launchers mounted on the back, this is the sequel C&C Generals deserves.

Mediocre vanilla game, pretty good with Gods & Kings, fantastic with Brave New World.

Not the deepest 4X out there, but probably one of the most charming.

Nowadays when people think RTS they think Starcraft or Company of Heroes, games which rely heavily on APM (actions per minute) and rote-learning build orders for maximum efficiency. Wargame doesn't do that, it doesn't demand fast reflexes or min-maxing construction, it requires you to understand unit synergy, positioning and cooperation with your team.

At the same time this isn't a simulator, concessions have been made to make gameplay more fun. Like the name suggests, Wargame is best described as a virtual miniature war game, giving you the best of tabletop hills and painted tank models without the high price or extremely slow pace.

The developers themselves are a dedicated bunch, releasing patches on a near-daily basis and listening to community feedback. The previous game, European Escalation, received several packs of free DLC, I expect the same to be with Airland Battle.

The only letdown is the singleplayer component. While the AI is competent enough it cannot rival a human player, the campaign while fun against another person isn't entertaining enough solo.

This is a multiplayer game first and foremost, if the idea of fighting 10v10 battles across the sweeping hills of Scandinavia using authentic Cold War weaponry appeals to you then jump right in without hesitation.

My only real qualm with Rockstar has been their dismissive attitude toward the PC with insultingly bad ports. This seems to be their way of reaching back into the PC market. I cannot find anything wrong with this game, the graphics are great, music is decent, gameplay is unrivalled, even the Call of John Wooty multiplayer is brilliant.
