By all means Tribe Nine was a good game but pretty much every positive it had came with a caveat that this was a live service/gacha game. It's very odd because it really felt like this was made as a real game first and then it was forced to become a gacha.
Satisfying gameplay loop with tons of variety for teambuilding thanks to the tension card system and difficult fights that respect you as a gamer.
Creative uses of gameplay to advance the story via XB. (which apparently you can play online vs other players)
Great atmosphere with nice 2.5D spritework for the exploration segments and 3D models with different outfits to choose from for each character with great voice acting and some rather prominent VA.
Music by Masafumi Takada so it was bound to be good.
Engaging fully voiced story with a clear objective and goal written by Kodaka Kazutaka himself.

All this potential watered down thanks to the classic gacha systems that we all love and hate like: awful rates, low free currency; obnoxiously long grinding for materials and easy repetitive puzzles/fights to keep retention and that dopamine flowing. Funnily enough, you don't even have to engage much with the live-service/gacha elements to complete all the content in the game; they even lend you guest characters that are way overleveled compared to what you probably have at that point.

Sadly, after a very rocky and greedy start and lackluster following revenue; the publishers saw that it wasn't profitable so they just immediatly pulled the plug, not even giving the game a pity 1 year of service and cancelling everything that was planned. All so they could start working on their new hot game based on an already existing IP Kaiju No 8 and get easier money.

All in all, if this was a 30-60$ game it would have rocked hard but obviously it would be naive to think that this would have even been greenlit as a full experience; I'll admit that I was waiting until the story was finished to even bother playing this but since it's going to close in like a few hours I just had to see what it had to offer and I had fun with what was shown

Years later and this is still the best Vampire Survivors clone.

Kay Yu and his team just keep adding more and more stuff to do that even if you get bored of the classic gameplay loop you can go waste time on the new extra stuff (even if not as deep or good as the main game)

Alright so a lot of people are hating on CA decks or something but you guys are clearly forgetting something way worse. Clearly the major problem is the fact that this port doesn't allow to download the japanese voices. like how can i be a real weeaboo without my SAIBERU ANGERU DAKINI, that would at least make those decks alright.

Still better than the newer Resident Evil games, surprisingly good port.
If you want to get them nostalgia feels but you don't have your trusty ps2 or xbox buy this game
